Draper is conducting a nation-wide search for a highly innovative and experienced individual to lead our Electro-Acoustic Sensors and Systems Group. The successful candidate will lead an organization tasked with exciting development activities for one-of-a-kind applications. Responsibilities will include business area development, proposal generation and technical project management, in addition to basic group leader functions including hiring and staff development. Group activities center around design and development of novel electro-acoustic sensor technologies. The ideal candidate should have expertise in architecting sensor systems and translating system level performance requirements to instrument and sensor design specifications. The candidate should also be able to support development of design concepts through detailed knowledge of sensor performance characteristics and at least a general understanding of the associated electronics and algorithms.

Required Qualifications:

  • Sc. degree in Mechanical Engineering, Electrical Engineering, Physics or equivalent. 10+ years of experience desired.

  • The candidate‚Äôs background should include instances of technical leadership and design responsibility on fielded or prototyped sensor instrumentation.

  • The applicant should be an expert instrument design engineer.

  • Excellent written and oral communication skills are required.

  • Must be willing to travel.
