Fluorescence Activated Cell Sorter, Senior RA, Scientist I


At eGenesis, we aspire to deliver safe and effective human transplantable cells, tissue, and organs utilizing the latest advancements in genome editing.


We are seeking a highly motivated and scientifically driven research associate or scientist to join our team and contribute expertise in FACS sorting and analysis to our progress. The incumbent will maintain and operate the FACS sorter(s) and analyzer(s), conducting project activities in gene-editing, immunology, and preclinical studies. The ideal candidate should enjoy problem solving and be a team player. By leading the FACS sorting and analysis, this team member will have an opportunity to contribute to our goal of solving the organ shortage crisis by xeno-transplantation of pig organs and tissues into humans.


  • Be the in house subject matter expert on flow cytometry

  • Maintain and operate FACS sorter(s) and analyzer(s)

  • Manage project queue and sign up mechanism

  • Contribute to protocol development for FACS sorting and analysis

  • Contribute to design of sorting and analysis experiments

  • Perform high quality, high speed cell sorting supporting project goals

  • Analyze and enter data into electronic notebook

  • Present data in team meetings

  • Train others to operate sorter(s) and analyzer(s)

  • Be the point person interacting with vendor for maintenance, troubleshooting, and upgrade

  • Adhere to laboratory safety guidelines


  • BS, MS, or PhD in biological sciences or a related field

  • In depth understanding of principle and practices of flow cytometry

  • At least 2 years of hands on experience in an academia or industry setting, operating the BD FACSAria series, the MoFlo series, or the Sony Series of cell sorters and analyzers

  • Candidate with hands on experience with the MoFlo Cell Sorter series (XDP, Astrios EQ) and BD FACSSymphony Flow Cytometer will be given preference

  • Candidate with exposure in gene editing or immunology preferred

  • Comfortable working with instrument and software

  • Attention to detail and good organization skills; excellent troubleshooting skills

  • Strong oral and written communication skills

  • Willing to collaborate and contribute to team goals
