Job Description
FINANCIAL ANALYST, Open Learning, to provide complex financial analyses. Will lead the development of annual budgets and quarterly forecasts; assist with preparing financial presentations; produce annual, quarterly, and ad hoc reports to monitor the financial performance of the business unit and individual projects; perform a variety of financial analyses that identify trends and recommendations to help inform decision making; perform financial modeling of new initiatives, staffing, sustainability, etc., and identify areas of potential cost savings; track and communicate performance metrics and trends to provide valuable insights; act as a resource for the business units on transactional inquires and financial/budgetary questions that require problem-solving and analysis; effectively communicate financial reporting to principal investigators (PIs) and project leads through ad hoc and quarterly reporting and forecasting; process budget revisions as needed; strategize with business unit leads and PIs on resource allocation and effort/salary allocations across projects and coordinate changes to payroll; assist PIs with financial reporting requirements to various funding organizations, including progress reports; ensure financial compliance with university policies and procedures and applicable legal rules and regulations; collaborate with the financial operations team to facilitate the execution of financial transactions; and perform all other related duties and/or special projects as assigned. Job Requirements
REQUIRED: bachelor’s degree in finance or related field; four years’ relevant work experience; working knowledge of budget management, financial analysis, financial modeling, and accounting principles.
