Advanced knowledge of budget management, financial analysis and

Demonstrated experience with financial systems and data query tools
Bachelor’s degree in finance, business administration or accounting
Minimum of 5 years of relevant experience
Advanced knowledge of Excel strongly preferred, knowledge of PowerPoint
Experience with Essbase/SmartView and Oracle Financials
Attention to detail and the aptitude to prioritize multiple competing assignments.
Excellent analytical, written and verbal communication skills
Strong understanding of financial tools and working with large amounts of complex data from multiple sources
Collaborative working style with excellent interpersonal skills

Position Description: Reporting to the Director of Budget and Planning and working with other analysts on the Finance team, this position will play a key role in the strategic planning efforts of the Harvard T.H. Chan School of Public Health (Chan School) by contributing to new and existing financial reporting. This analyst will help to manage the School's $450M annual budget process, and will support the team's work on building forecasts, tracking financial performance, and presenting results. In addition, this position will provide analyses to and answer requests from School leadership, academic and administrative departments, and Univeristy offices on a regular and ad hoc basis. The analyst will develop expertise in Chan School financial data and systems, and encourage an analytical approach to problem-solving through modeling and reporting.
Duties and responsibilities include, but are not limited to, the following:
Provide strategic and quantitiatve analysis to support critical decisions
Play key role in development of School's annual operating budget
Create presentation quality financial reports for senior leadership
Collaborate to build models related to budgeting and forecasting financial results
Maintain accountability for monthly management reporting and analysis
Perform additional ad-hoc financial analysis as needed
Serve as an information resource to departments across the School
Contribute to the overall goals of the Finance team
Other related duties as assigned

PLEASE NOTE: The work can be done primarily remotely, however the analyst may be required to come to campus for onboarding and occasional team building days. Also, shortlisted candidates will be required to analyze and respond to a short and related business case as part of the interview process.
