Candidates MUST meet the following basic qualifications in order to be considered for this role:
- Bachelor’s Degree and a minimum of five years of experience in marketing or community engagement or related experience
Additional Qualifications and Skills:
Experience with sales, marketing, or community engagement.
Demonstrated commitment to valuing diversity and contributing to an inclusive working and learning environment; proven ability to engage in productive and respectful conversations with individuals and groups on diversity, equity, inclusion & belonging.
Ability to interpret analytics results, assess campaign effectiveness, and adapt campaigns to achieve goals. Proven communication and writing ability.
Experience in education engagement strategy preferred.
Proven ability to work collaboratively and effectively with a variety of individuals with differing social identities, cultural backgrounds, socioeconomic classes, and life experiences.
Exceptional project management and organizational skills and the ability to meet deadlines and adhere to strict schedules on multiple projects; excellent communication skills (verbal and written).
Experience in and passion for building and supporting initiatives that promote diversity, equity, inclusion & belonging.
Skilled at presenting and discussing difficult or controversial topics with diverse audiences.
Demonstrated ability to facilitate positive interactions and provide education for understanding diversity, equity, inclusion & belonging to a wide range of constituencies.
Must possess sound judgment, be resourceful, and demonstrate the ability to identify, analyze and solve problems.
Ability to work independently, get projects done by enlisting the cooperation of others, and take ownership of work.
Proficiency in Spanish is a plus.
The Racial Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion in Science Education (RDEISE) project advance racial equity and inclusion in healthcare, education, and STEM fields through free, online teaching resources. These educational materials, which are being developed by leading scholars from HBCUs, Harvard, and other institutions, will equip high school and college educators to address these topics as part of a standard science curriculum, and challenge the perception that science is independent of social issues. The project focuses on developing two learning clusters. The first learning cluster, Racism as a Public Health Crisis, will increase public awareness of racial health disparities, and teach the critical thinking skills needed to dismantle the structures that perpetuate these inequities. The second cluster, Inclusive and Antiracist Teaching Strategies, will empower educators with the skills, knowledge, and tools to close opportunity and retention gaps in science education.

The LabXchange (LXC) program has an immediate opening for an Equity, Diversity, Inclusion, & Belonging Lead (EDIB) Lead to promote and advance the Racial Diversity, Equity, and Inclusion in Science Education (RDEISE) project (https://equity.labxchange.org) throughout the Harvard University community and external groups and organizations. The RDEISE project advances racial equity and inclusion in healthcare, education, and STEM fields through free, online teaching resources. The EDIB Lead will design, disseminate, and evaluate the effectiveness of LXC’s engagement and programming efforts in alignment with strategic goals for the adoption of RDEISE curricular materials at the K-12 and undergraduate levels.
Please note: This is a grant-funded term appointment scheduled to end on February 28, 2025, with the possibility of extension based on business needs and continued funding.
Conduct market research and extensive direct outreach and generate greater awareness of RDEISE project to achieve adoption targets; identity, build and deepen cross-university partnerships as well as partnerships with HBCUs and other community partners
Design and lead workshops, panels, and other events to introduce secondary school educators and administrators to the RDEISE materials and how they can incorporate them into their teaching
Serve as a knowledgeable and vocal advocate for the RDEISE project among students and educators; represent the RDEISE project with internal and external constituents
Develop and monitor engagement metrics; support collection and analysis of data to determine the effectiveness of dissemination and adoption efforts and drive continuous improvement
Partner with cross-functional teams to ensure alignment in communications
Create and disseminate the annual report and contribute to a monthly/quarterly newsletter with resources, articles, happenings, and events on progress and opportunities for continued growth
