DONOR RELATIONS OFFICER, School of Engineering (SoE), to be responsible for the creation and implementation of strategic stewardship programs and comprehensive, individualized stewardship plans for targeted groups of the school’s donors and prospects. Will report to the assistant dean for development and work collaboratively with the SoE Dean’s Office and school development officers on the preparation, implementation, and documentation of activities and outreach that promote the school’s, departments’, and programs’ fundraising priorities and goals and recognize, engage, and steward MIT donors and the funds they support within the school; establish best practices for the SoE development team; and lead brainstorming to generate ideas and propose new stewardship projects (including print and electronic communications, in-person and virtual events, etc.) that strategically support cultivation and solicitation goals.
Job Requirements
REQUIRED: bachelor's degree; at least five years of experience in stewardship/donor relations, development communications, or related field; proven ability to manage and prioritize a high volume of work in a fast-paced, team-oriented environment; attention to detail; ability to work independently/make independent judgments and focus on teamwork and collaboration; strong writing and editing skills especially for a digital medium, familiarity with development writing and executive style/tone, and ability to create content quickly; ability to manage multiple projects and use discretion when handling confidential material; excellent oral communication skills; and strong technical skills, including thorough knowledge of Word, PowerPoint, and Excel. PREFERRED: a background in higher education and familiarity with Adobe InDesign and BSR Advance. Job #21755-8Occasional travel may be required (5% of time). 8/22/22
