DIRECTOR OF MARKETING AND COMMUNICATIONS, MIT Professional Education (MIT PE), to lead and implement all marketing and marketing communications activities in support of MIT PE and all its programs globally. Responsibilities include developing and implementing a marketing plan and managing a marketing communications plan that addresses the internal and external promotional needs of both individual programs and MIT PE as a whole. Activities include brand management, identifying and working with partners to develop print and web marketing campaigns, developing newsletters and news articles for dissemination, and arranging conference sponsorships/participation; conducting market research and tracking and reporting results of such efforts; local, national, and global media relations by maintaining presence on social media, developing newsletters and news articles for internal and external dissemination, developing and updating content on the MIT PE website, and arranging domestic and international conference sponsorship and participation. MIT PE offers a suite of education programs and products to serve the continuing educational needs of science and engineering professionals globally.

Job Requirements

REQUIRED: B.A./B.S.; seven years’ strongly-related marketing and marketing communications and/or journalistic experience in the education arena; high-level proficiency with print, social media, and web marketing; strong interpersonal, facilitation, and consensus- and team-building skills; excellent verbal and written communication skills; proven ability to develop, execute upon, and realize strategic marketing plans; ability to provide effective outreach to faculty, students, professionals, companies, and organizations globally. Must be organized, detail-oriented, and someone who takes ownership of projects without a high level of supervision. Seek someone who is committed to the goals of MIT and MIT PE. Technical background and advanced degree preferred. Experience in international markets and/or global communications a plus. Job #15932-Q
