Abt Associates Digital Medicaid Senior Analyst in Cambridge, Massachusetts

Opportunity

Abt is seeking a Health Policy and Governance Senior Analyst with experience in Medicaid, managed care, digital solutions, analytics and automation, and technical assistance. This role will primarily support a Centers for Medicare & Medicaid Services (CMS) project related to Medicaid, managed care, and analytics and automation.

Key Roles & Responsibilities

  • Performs a variety of research and analysis tasks by collecting, compiling, validating, interpreting, and analyzing Medicaid and managed care data trends using standard practices and techniques.

  • Drafts and manages the implementation of procedures for data collection, manipulation, and analysis during all project phases.

  • Develops and contributes to digital solutions that introduce process improvements, policy analysis, contract review automation, and analytic files and outputs.

  • May participate in the establishment of new or revised systems, policies, or methods.

  • May devise methods and lead the design of modeling, simulation or simple to moderately complex forecasting using standard statistical software packages.

Preferred Qualifications

A Senior Professional applies advanced knowledge of a job area, typically obtained through advanced education and work experience. For this work, we are seeking Medicaid and managed care knowledge, with digital solutions and analytics experience. Complete understanding and wide application of technical principles, theories and concepts in the field. General knowledge of other related disciplines. Provides technical solutions to a wide range of difficult problems. Solutions are imaginative, thorough, practicable and consistent with organization objectives. Works under only general direction. Independently determines and develops approach to solutions. Work is reviewed upon completion for adequacy in meeting objectives. Contributes to completion of specific programs and projects. Failure to obtain results or erroneous decisions or recommendations would typically result in serious program delays and considerable expenditure of resources. Responsibilities may include:

  • Managing projects, tasks, and subtasks, working independently with limited supervision

  • Coaching and reviewing the work of lower-level professionals.

  • Problems faced are difficult and sometimes complex.

  • Will have frequent inter-organizational and client contacts. Expected to advance client intimacy.

  • Represents organization in providing solutions to difficult technical issues associated with specific projects.

Minimum Qualifications

Bachelor’s Degree + Five years of relevant experience, or Master’s Degree + Three years of relevant experience, or PhD

This position offers an anticipated annual base salary range of approximately $69,118.15 to $110,589.04 and may vary by ten percent depending on candidate geographic location. Salary offers are made based on internal equity and market analysis.
