    Job Description

DIGITAL COMMUNICATIONS COORDINATOR, MIT Museum, to develop, repurpose, and manage content and imagery to be delivered digitally through a variety of platforms. Will serve as the in-house digital media expert and strategist, providing advice/guidance related to such content and their delivery systems in support of marketing and communications objectives, with the ultimate goal of audience growth. Will be responsible for social media and website updates and oversight of the customer relationship module (CRM) and communications area within the digital assets management system (DAMS); maintaining an editorial calendar and developing compelling text and visual content to promote short- and long-term initiatives; staying abreast of current events, trending topics, MIT news/announcements, and other chances to join the greater online conversation. Job Requirements

REQUIRED: bachelor’s degree in a related field; two years’ related experience in the field of digital communications, including experience handling business or institutional communications in some capacity; excellent communication skills; attention to detail; flexibility and willingness to assist in other work functions when needed; training in Adobe Creative Suite or demonstrated expertise with Adobe products; proficiency with Photoshop, Dreamweaver and CMS systems (currently using Craft); and comprehensive working knowledge of MS Word, Excel, HTML, CSS, and current social media platforms and their publishing interfaces. Must be able to draft effective text for use with key target audiences; maintain an active presence online, e.g., in social media; and work as part of a team in a busy academic environment. PREFERRED: working knowledge of HubSpot and SurveyMonkey, and basic understanding of STEM- (science, technology, engineering, math) related topics. Job #22927-6 7/10/23
