  • Minimum of 2-3 years' experience, preferably in fundraising, volunteer management, project management, or related experience.

  • Solid computer skills in Microsoft Office software. Experience with data analysis and visualization a plus.

  • Must be able to work occasional evening and weekend hours.

With that in mind, we strongly encourage all employees to be up to date on CDC-recommended vaccines.Department:Alumni Affairs and DevelopmentPre-Employment Screening:Identity Job Function:Alumni Affairs and Development, General AdministrationPosition Description:Partnering closely with the Executive Director, the Coordinator will support the work of the HCF Executive Committee, a group of high-level donors and volunteer leaders who convene several times each year to discuss the progress of fundraising and alumni engagement initiatives that benefit from strategic partnerships with volunteers. In addition, this role will work with members of the HCF management team to advance the HCF’s annual goals and priorities through various projects designed to recruit, educate, and inspire volunteers and donors, including the coordination of HCF volunteer outreach and activity, the creation of materials for volunteer use and for committee meetings, and support for virtual and in-person events and trainings.

  • With the Executive Director, coordinates volunteer outreach activity for the Harvard College Fund Executive Committee. This work includes, but is not limited to, managing screening lists and solicitation assignments; preparing materials and agendas for calls and meetings; managing communications and messaging; facilitating and tracking outreach to HCF volunteers; and tracking volunteer enlistment.

  • Partners with the Executive Director and members of the HCF Management team in the planning and execution of volunteer training and stewardship events and activities, including the three annual meetings of the HCF Executive Committee, and our annual Volunteer Assembly and Volunteer Summit.

  • In support of the HCF’s efforts to provide each of its volunteers with an optimal experience, the Coordinator may be asked to conduct periodic surveys that assess the volunteers’ experience and help to identify areas of strength and opportunities for growth.

  • Working with HCF Management and colleagues in FAS Development Communications, may be asked to assist in the organization and circulation of periodic communications to all current HCF volunteers, including holiday cards, fiscal year-end thank you, and volunteer awards.

  • Helps with curating and disseminating HCF team resources, including the ongoing management of the HCF Source pages and the annual HCF Fact Book.

  • Supports ad hoc projects on behalf of the Executive Director and the HCF Management Team.

  • May be asked to provide additional support for the broader HCF team during times of peak activity or staff transition. Works closely with other members of the HCF support team to advance the goals of the department.

  • In concert with the needs of the Faculty of Arts and Sciences and AA&D, works periodically on special projects in collaboration with the FAS fundraising staff overall, above and beyond strict adherence to the needs of HCF, in order to advance the overall office fundraising objectives.
