We are seeking a Data Scientist to help to develop AI/ML models for Sanofi’s digital transformation and data products. The successful candidate will have an opportunity to work within and between domains (e.g commercial, customer experience, consumer data, operational, medical, and corporate functions data).
Data Scientist Responsibilities:
Apply in-depth experience with both statistical and modern data science approaches, including unsupervised, supervised, and forecasting algorithms.
Build models, algorithms, simulations, and experiments by writing highly optimized code and using state-of-the art machine learning technologies.
Work on full spectrum of activities from conducting ML experiments to delivering production ready models.
Participate in data science or cross-functional working groups in addressing specific challenges/ad-hoc projects. Work in fast-paced agile environment as member of a product team (POD)
Partner with different stakeholders such as Finance, Product, Marketing, Data Engineering or IT to shape product vision and deliver on in effectively.
Decide and execute on the right AI/ML approach in the entire project/product lifecycle. Starting from ideation, through development while applying best product and software development practices, to deployment and iteration.
Impact Sanofi by proactively identifying business opportunities that can benefit from AI/ML.
Act as AI/ML subject matter expert and data science evangelist that can connect complex business problem with its technical solution and advocate for it effectively.
Actively participate in data science community. Contribute with innovative solutions and foster adoption of common tools and methodologies.
Bachelor’s or master’s degree in mathematics, computer science, engineering, physics, statistics, economics, computational sciences or a related quantitative discipline and at least 3-4 years of analytical experience in an industrial or commercial setting.
Hands-on AI/ML modeling experience of complex datasets combined with strong understanding of theoretical foundations of AI/ML. Experience within some of the following areas: supervised learning, unsupervised learning, deep learning, reinforcement learning, federated learning, time series forecasting, bayesian statistics, optimization.
Advanced software development skills in at least two of the standard data science languages (such as Python, R, Scala, C++, Julia), and familiarity & flexibility with data warehouse systems (e.g. Redshift, Bigquery, Snowflake, NoSQL, graph,..).
Experience developing deployable code and deploying models in product-focused development agile environment.
Comfortable working in cloud and high-performance compute environments (e.g. AWS, GCP, Databricks, Apache Spark).
Excellent written and verbal communication, business analysis, data visualization and data storytelling skills.
PhD degree in mathematics, computer science, engineering, physics, statistics, economics, or a related quantitative discipline with at least 2+ years of industry experience.
May also have expertise in advanced statistical modeling (Market Mix Models, demand forecasting, elasticity modeling, mixed effects modeling, etc.) or broader aspects of applied mathematics such as optimization or deep ML expertise e.g NLP, imaging, federated learning.
A track record of publishing relevant predictive modeling results and tools in peer-reviewed journals, conferences, and other scientific proceedings.
Experience AI/ML development (MLOps, CI/CD).
Experience in life sciences and healthcare.
Experience in a complex global organization
