COMMUNICATIONS OFFICER, School of Engineering, will focus on strategic development, implementation and management of all aspects of communications for the Tata-MIT Alliance; play a crucial role in managing and executing communications strategies for the Tata-MIT Alliance, collaborating closely with a range of stakeholders across MIT, including the School of Engineering Dean’s Office, to align on communications priorities and strategy; be responsible for conceptualizing, writing, and approving content for various communications and outreach projects, such as articles for MIT News and the Tata-MIT Alliance website and day-to-day updates and major revisions of the Alliance’s website; and lead complex communications projects, including managing vendors, budgets, and schedules.Find the full job description here (https://docs.google.com/document/d/1fx91tyhD_Cf9Lt8WaxD4mCfVAZGNtbmH/edit?usp=sharing&ouid=107559933310443435295&rtpof=true&sd=true) .

Job Requirements

REQUIRED: bachelor’s degree in English, communications, journalism, or similar field; at least five years of professional communications experience in higher education, at a research institution or in journalism, public relations, or marketing; experience planning and implementing communications and strategies and with print and digital communication, user interface trends, and web design best practices; ability to communicate, edit, present directly and eloquently, written and spoken; ability to translate complex technical ideas into clear language and to work independently, as part of a dynamic team, and build productive relationships with faculty, staff, and external audiences; robust organizational, interpersonal, and diplomacy skills; experience with social media content creation, monitoring, metrics, reporting, and using HTML and CMS; discretion with confidential information; and demonstrated design skills and proficiency using Adobe Creative Suite and other modern tools.
