We have an exciting position as a SCA Electronics Technician Maintenance III on the Aviation Combined Arms Tactical Trainer (AVCATT) platform for the WarFighter Focus (WFF) Contract at Shelbyville, IN
WarFighter FOCUS is the U.S. Army’s largest training services contract. It provides integrated worldwide Live, Virtual, and Constructive maintenance, operations, and sustainment of training systems.
Essential Job Functions:
Must be able to learn and verify proper functioning of U.S. Army AH64A/D, UH60L, CH47D and OH58D helicopter subsystems and should have a basic understanding of flight aircraft characteristics.
Performs flight modules reconfigurations and operational checks prior to scheduled training periods.
Supports maintenance and training operations during weekends and shifting hours when required.
Dead lifts and repositions reconfigurable aircraft consoles weighing up to 86 lbs. from and to below flight cabin floors.
Retrieves aircraft instrumentation panel overlays weighing up to 46 lbs. from above the head and secure the same to mounting frames at below the waist heights.
Conducts helmet mounted video display system fittings for basic flight students, allied officers, and VIP’s.
Interacts with users during training to resolve problems and re-establish the affected module to operational status without delay.
Responds to maintenance calls, monitors pilot generated logbook entries, initiates corrective actions, replacement parts requisitions, and related records updates.
Conducts and documents general trailer preventive maintenance checks & services.
Implements and provides feedback on engineering software and hardware updates.
Conducts limited simulator test flights supporting maintenance checks, engineering upgrades, and tests as directed by the Battle Master Controller.
Diagnoses, troubleshoots, and repairs electromechanical, video, audio, and network systems using publications and wiring diagrams supplied by military, contractor engineering, and commercial off the shelf equipment manufacturers.
Must be able to safely handle rack mounted computers weighing up to 44 lbs. and universal power supplies weighing up to 57 lbs.
Crawls through limited access spaces as part of periodic inspections, services, maintenance, and engineering changes.
Must be able to safely handle flight controls assemblies weighing approximately 100 pounds dead lift weight. Performs MIL STD 2000 soldering as required.
Employs use of complex electronic equipment such as, digital multi-meter, fiber optic test equipment, temperature probes, ultrasonic beacons test equipment, computer based troubleshooting systems, power meters, CAT5 and CAT6 network cabling testing.
Maintains and repairs as needed high voltage cabling in the 300 amps range.
Troubleshoots and replace analog to digital to analog networked circuit module arrays.
Maintains logistics records, LAN based central work order system, and reports as directed by the site manager.
Ships and receives parts following strict US Government property accountability procedures.
Performs basic inspections, preventive services on four environmental control units, and determines if on call subcontractor maintenance is required.
At the discretion of the site manager, additional duties may include support responsibilities not directly associated with primary duties. Must be ready to travel with the AVCATT suite if relocated.
Applies technical knowledge of electronics principles in determining equipment malfunctions.
Applies skill in restoring equipment operation, evaluates performance and reliability of prototype or production mode.
Associate's Degree in Electronic Technology (or equivalent) from an accredited college or university and three years minimum work experience in a related discipline or three years related military training or a combination of education and experience.
Three years of increasingly complex and progressive experience in computer systems / network or training device maintenance.
Two years’ experience with Microsoft office software operation and use.
Must possess good written composition and verbal communication skills, ability to express facts and rationale.
Must be able to stoop, bend, lift and carry up to 50 lbs.
Must be able to climb stairs on a daily basis.
Varies depending on site
Must be able to travel to various locations.
