Oracle VetTech Academy - Hardware Engineer 3 - US Military Veteran Program (JoinOCI-VetTech) in Burlington, Massachusetts

Evaluates reliability of materials, properties and techniques used in production; plans, designs and develops electronic parts, components, integrated circuitry, mechanical systems, equipment and packaging, optical systems and/or DSP systems.

Responsible for designing, developing, modifying and evaluating electronic, electro-mechanical or mechanical components, assemblies or integrated circuitry for hardware systems for the external market. Includes new design, as well as modification activities that results in significant product enhancement. Activities encompass design, analysis, testing and process development using engineering principles and methods. Technical disciplines may include electrical and logical design of printed circuit boards or integrated circuits; mechanical design of electronics enclosures or integrated circuit packaging; and embedded software/firmware design.

Duties and tasks are varied and complex needing independent judgment. Fully competent in own area of expertise. May have project lead role and or supervise lower level personnel. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. 4 years of engineering or related experience.

As a Hardware Engineer you will contribute to multi-disciplinary projects using your engineering expertise. You will plan requirements with internal customers and usher data center hardware products through the entire project lifecycle. This includes identifying risks and serviceability issues related to physical hardware design, participating in the full hardware development lifecycle and using data and business analytics to drive improvements to efficiency and quality of OCIs physical infrastructure.

In this role you will be passionate about product introduction into Oracle Data Centers (DCs) working with multi-functional teams to ensure the new products are safe and serviceable for technicians working in the DCs. You will interact with individuals at all levels and optimally collaborate with internal partners during the full product life cycle of products entering and exiting our Data Centers.

Work is non-routine and very sophisticated, involving the application of advanced technical/business skills in area of specialization. Leading contributor individually and as a team member, providing direction and mentoring to others. BS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. 2 years of engineering or related experience.
