Raytheon Sr Field Engineer I in Burlington, Massachusetts

Raytheon IIS (IISFE) is currently seeking a Sr. System Engineer to support the UEWR Radar System upgrades. Candidates for this position should be prepared for extensive travel (up to 100%). The successful candidate will join a team of installation engineers in a challenging assignment at a remote location. He/she should be familiar with large phased array radar installation and testing and should have a good working knowledge of engineering drawings, wiring diagrams, schematics, procedures and work scheduling and reporting. The work involves regular rotations (multiple weeks) at remote locations. This individual will perform other duties as assigned in support of the mission. Required Skills : Candidates should have at least 2 years’ experience in test, integration, and cabling interconnects. Must be able to perform work to a detailed level. Will have extensive working knowledge Raytheon’s procedures and reporting methods. This position is requires a government Secret Security Clearance. Ability to live and work with others in a confined environment for long durations is a must . Candidates must be familiar with electrical codes and compliance with equipment installation regulations, including grounding systems Candidates should be highly proficient with the use of hand and power tools and electrical test equipment. Candidates must be willing and able to climb and work on radar site towers. Candidates must be willing and able to travel up to 100% of the time away from home to work at installation sites. Previous HW equipment experience, and system operation experience UEWR system experience/knowledge desired Experience with/Understanding of systems requirements sell-off (Test, Analysis, Demonstration, Inspection) Good communication/coordination skills Fast learner (Demonstrates initiative, ability to work independently towards program goals) Desired Skills: Candidate should be able to communicate, orally and in writing, site and equipment status to upper management and government customer. Experience in dealing with customer representatives and in coordinating actions with other contractors is a plus. Candidate should be proficient at using the Microsoft Office software applications in preparing status reports, generating various documents and procedures, etc. Familiar with Raytheon practices regarding technical documentation. Familiar with US Department of Defense testing and acceptance practices for facilities sub-systems. Prior experience in Radar System performance analysis or Radar Operations and maintenance experience of phased array radar systems is strongly recommended. Required Education (including Major): Bachelor's Degree in Computer Engineering, Computer Science, Electrical Engineering, and Information Systems, Mathematics or similar degree and 4 years of prior relevant experience. 129280
