Job Description

Lead a team that acts as the central resource and driving force for the design, process, manufacturing, test, quality and marketing of product(s) as they move from conception to distribution. Organize interdepartmental activities ensuring completion of the project/product on schedule and within budget.

As a member of the product development division, you will specify, design and implement major changes to existing software architecture. Define project needs. Build and execute unit tests and unit test plans. Review integration and regression plans created by QA. Communicate with QA and porting engineering to ensure consistency, testability and portability across products in general.

Provide leadership and expertise in the development of new products/services/processes, frequently operating at the leading edge of technology. Recommends and justifies major changes to existing products/services/processes. BS or MS degree or equivalent experience relevant to functional area. 8 or more years of software engineering or related experience.

You'll have end-to-end ownership of your product space, and be responsible for strategy, execution, and go-to-market coordination for the next generation of Oracle Energy & Water products. You will contribute to the success and vision of our market-leading solution, reaching millions of utility customers and thousands of employees across the globe.

What You’ll Make Happen

  • Meet with and learn from employees of utilities around the world about their business and the challenges they face

  • Go deep on Oracle Energy & Water products and technologies

  • Contribute to the vision, strategy, and roadmap for Oracle Energy & Water products

  • Work closely with UX researchers and designers to understand and articulate the needs of utilities’ customers and to design products that are well understood and delightful to use

  • Brainstorm with architects and engineers to identify the best technical approach. Review technical design documents and architecture, and participate in technical demos

  • Work closely with sales and customer success teams to drive the adoption of our products

  • Identify opportunities for new initiatives, and develop business plans, product plans, and success metrics to make the case for investment

  • Demonstrate outstanding product design and technical decisions

  • Actively manage projects cross-functionally to ensure successful outcomes

About You

  • 5+ years as a Product Manager or 10+ years of related professional experience

  • Excellent oral and written communication skills tailored for a wide variety of audiences

  • Eager to learn continuously – about new technologies, products, and industry trends

  • Fantastic analytical skills: ability to solve problems quickly, establish frameworks, think on your feet, and generalize solutions

  • Understand the importance of prioritization to build an impactful product that moves metrics

  • Experience leading collaborative workshops with internal and external stakeholders with a wide range of expertise

  • The following are not requirements, but are beneficial for this role:

  • Degree in computer science, engineering, or related technical degree.

  • Background in energy, utilities, or regulated markets.

  • Experience managing software projects and engineering teams through various cycles of product management planning and implementation.

  • Experience with Agile a plus.
