Microsoft Corporation Senior Product Manager - Diagnostic Imaging in Burlington, Massachusetts

Microsoft’s Health & Life Sciences (HLS) Solutions product team is aspiring to disrupt diagnostic imaging workflows to deliver a step change in productivity and to help address physician shortage, leveraging generative AI capabilities. We are seeking an experienced Senior Product Manager - Diagnostic Imaging to grow our market-leading position in diagnostic radiology. You will be a key driver in developing product requirements by working closely with customers and cross-functional teams to deliver outstanding products that meet market demands and exceed customer expectations.

The successful candidate will lead cross-functional efforts to stay ahead of industry trends, maintain a edge, and ensure the continued success of the HLS Solution portfolio in a rapidly evolving technological landscape. With a focus on innovation, this position requires an experienced professional with a proven track record in diagnostic radiology product management and an in-depth knowledge of diagnostic radiology workflows.

Responsibilities

Discovery:

  • Work directly with external and internal customers to understand, quantify, and capture Voice of Customer (VOC) as well as track and technological trends.

  • Assist in analyzing market data to identify solution opportunities, gaps, and risks.

Planning and Design:

  • Conduct in-field hypothesis-based research with prototypes and research guides to uncover latent customer needs and determine ROI of solutions.

  • Clarify the definition, value and design of the products and each solution offering.

  • Creating detailed requirements for the product and services that would provide the required value proposition.

  • Owns or partners with others in driving business impact across the organization and tracking success criteria and performance metrics (e.g., Objectives and Key Results [OKRs], Key Performance Indicators [KPIs] such as engagement, usage, acquisition, revenue, profitability, and in-project features) and provides clarity on fundamentals (e.g., quality, privacy, security, compliance, accessibility, cost of goods sold [COGS]) of multiple features or feature areas.

  • Works with Software Engineering (SWE) to identify needed data and ensure needed telemetry is developed and obtains it responsibly and compliantly; reports and explicates reasons for outcomes.

  • Deeply understands the COGS of multiple feature areas (e.g., product, service) and the KPIs that will help improve profitability. Identifies OKRs for multiple feature areas (e.g., product, service) and ensures alignment of the features with product-level OKRs.

  • Determines the value of the product or feature to the business, aligns success criteria, and measures success.

Deliver and Maintain:

  • Helps to define the feature set and partners with Design teams to connect multiple design factors (e.g., visual design, user experience [UX], application programming interfaces [APIs]) to desired functionality and product vision. Iterates multiple designs with Design, and Software Engineering (SWE).

  • Define Epics and User Stories based on user requirements and workflows, and work closely with Engineering Teams to execute product roadmap and releases.

  • Owns the roadmap for the multiple feature areas (e.g., product, service) they own. Prioritizes the backlog, works with Software Engineering (SWE) to align on tradeoffs for the multiple feature areas (e.g., product service) they own, and partners with Product Marketing on the disclosure of the roadmap.

  • Takes in new inputs and adapts as necessary.

  • Evangelizes the feature areas they work on with internal and external stakeholders, partners, and customers in the industry via presentations, blog posts, social media, and other forums.

  • Presents at Executive Briefing Centers (EBCs) and large industry/company events.

  • Acts as a primary interface with Product Marketing to educate on the product and develop content.

  • Work with solutions marketing, R&D, professional services, order management, technical support, and other service organizations, to meet product delivery KPIs.

  • Manage the early adopter clients to become successful references with defined ROI.

  • Work with the cross-functional team to triage product defects.

  • Gather, interpret, and recommend based on the market performance of the offerings.

  • Work with marketing to support the market launch: field training, sales training, assisting with positioning and collateral development.

  • Perform tasks related to securing and keeping the products, tools, and processes that you are responsible for secure.

Qualifications

Required/Minimum Qualifications:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering AND 5+ years’ experience in product management

  • OR equivalent experience.

  • 2+ years’ experience in diagnostic imaging product management

Preferred Qualifications:

  • Bachelor's Degree AND 7+ years experience in product/service/project/program management software development

  • OR equivalent experience.

  • Masters Preferred

  • Subject Matter Expert in diagnostic radiology workflow.

  • Demonstrated experience in defining, creating, and launching successful products.

Product Management IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $112,000 - $218,400 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $145,800 - $238,600 per year.
