Microsoft’s Health & Life Sciences Solutions team is seeking a Senior Product Designer to join the Clinician User Experiences team. This team is leading the delivery of first party solutions and applications to health & life sciences clients powered by Microsoft Azure and AI to transform how we work and bring Microsoft’s mission of empowering every person and organization on the planet to achieve more to life.

As a Senior Product Designer, you will help in envisioning and executing product direction in your area. You will use your passion, professionalism, and creativity to create unique, fresh, and innovative product solutions across our product suite. You are someone who thrives in cross-discipline partnerships, truly values the importance of cooperation, and can work across multiple virtual teams to create compelling product experiences. You are comfortable working in an emerging and agile product landscape, using your design, communication, and critical-thinking skills to carve out clarity and deliver world-class human-centric products.

Responsibilities

  • Deliver world-class interaction designs end-to-end from incubation through to shipping product.

  • Help organize and drive design collaboration (sprints, ideations, brainstorms) with cross-discipline partners (PM, Engineering, Research and Data Science).

  • Collaborate with Design and Engineering partners to align and deliver a crafted product vision end-to-end.

  • Create clarity and generate energy for your product and product teams through powerful storytelling.

  • Mentor and develop designers, helping them to grow their skills and advance their careers.

  • Stay current on design trends, technologies, and tools, and incorporate them into the design team's work as appropriate.

Qualifications

Required/Minimum Qualifications

  • Bachelor's Degree in Industrial Design, Product Design, Human Computer Interaction, User Experience, Interaction Design, or related field AND 5+ years experience working in product or service design

  • OR Master's Degree in Industrial Design, Product Design, Human Computer Interaction, User Experience, Interaction Design, or related field AND 4+ years experience working in product or service design

  • OR equivalent experience (e.g., demonstrated experience working in product or service design or using design thinking to solve problems).

Other Requirements

  • Ability to meet Microsoft, customer and/or government security screening requirements are required for this role. These requirements include, but are not limited to the following specialized security screenings: Microsoft Cloud Background Check:This position will be required to pass the Microsoft Cloud background check upon hire/transfer and every two years thereafter.

Preferred Qualifications

  • 4+ years' experience shipping products and/or delivering to customers as a result of an end-to-end design process.

  • Extensive experience with delivering Interaction Design, as well as high craft.

  • Experience with global level work, international experience and locatalization.

  • Comprehensive understanding of deep product thinking and experience delivering 0-1 on an enterprise level.

  • Demonstration of design operations mindset in design process.

  • Proven storytelling and communication skills across leadership, engineering teams, designers, customers, and partners.

  • 1+ year experience designing conversational Generative AI experiences, incorporating Large Language Models into features, designing and testing meta prompts.

  • 1+ year experience designing products and solutions used world-wide.

  • Experience in the healthcare UX design solution space a plus.

  • Ability to travel and be onsite for team meetings from time to time.

  • Portfolios required to be considered for this role.

Product Design IC4 - The typical base pay range for this role across the U.S. is USD $117,200 - $229,200 per year. There is a different range applicable to specific work locations, within the San Francisco Bay area and New York City metropolitan area, and the base pay range for this role in those locations is USD $153,600 - $250,200 per year.
