Overview:

The Corporate Finance team at Nuance is seeking a Senior Financial Analyst in our Burlington office. This role will be a key contributor in supporting our G&A Executive Team through the annual planning process, quarterly forecasting, consolidated multi-year planning and other corporate initiatives. This role represents a great opportunity to understand the financial and operational fundamentals of a complex publicly traded technology company. The Senior Financial Analyst will work cross-functionally with the Senior Finance Manager and other team members to support financial planning activities and process improvements to FP&A. We are looking for a person that is comfortable both leading discussions to drive smart business decisions and is willing to roll up their sleeves to do financial analysis and reporting. The position requires a high degree of accuracy, attention to detail, and self-motivation to be accountable to deliverables and deadlines. This position will report to the Senior Finance Manager within Corporate FP&A.

Principal Duties and Responsibilities:

  • Provide thoughtful, timely, pragmatic, and comprehensive financial analysis to stakeholders by leveraging our various data sources, to drive informed decisions within the company

  • Leverage previous experience in planning and forecasting, preferably in a highly matrixed organization, to balance Corporate and functional objectives

  • Engage with the business organization to understand operational models, assumptions, and drivers; leverage your finance skills to provide insight on a regular basis

  • Support Executives in understanding key performance indicators and financials, and challenge where appropriate

  • Conduct monthly and quarterly variance analysis to ensure operating expenditures are planned and justified; analyze plans and forecasts to identify risks and opportunities to the projections

  • Provide high quality commentary for internal and external purposes that demonstrates understanding of the key drivers and communicates all key messages required for decision making

  • Perform tasks related to securing and keeping the products, tools, and processes that you are responsible for securing.

Qualifications:

  • BA/BS in Finance, accounting or Business; CPA or MBA highly desirable

  • 5+ years of related Finance experience

  • Strong integrity and character

  • Strong written, presentation and verbal skills

  • Self-motivated to manage and deliver on expectations
