Keurig Dr Pepper Senior Design Engineer in Burlington, Massachusetts
The Sr. Design Engineer will join Keurig Dr. Pepper Appliance organization. The Sr. Design Engineer will work on cross-functional teams, developing next generation Keurig brewers. The Sr. Design Engineer will lead mechanical design activities critical to new and existing appliance development. This position will have significant impact and leverage on current and future products, and will be in an excellent position for visibility and growth within the KDP organization.
While this position does not have direct reports, the Design Engineer III will have a responsibility for instructing, directing and checking the work of other design engineers.
What you will do:
Quickly get up to speed with new technologies and products.
Perform complex activities related to design, testing and evaluation of electro mechanical systems.
Create 3D CAD designs, specifications, drawings and perform tolerance analyses.
Perform structural simulations of new mechanical designs.
Provide direction and mentorship for peers and colleagues.
Partner with a cross-functional team of technical, business and manufacturing subject matter experts
Proactively identify and close knowledge gaps.
Serve as a technical interface with Asia based suppliers and partners. Support and/or drive continuous improvement.
Follow all KDP policies and procedures.
What you must have :
Bachelor’s in Mechanical Engineering, Master’s preferred.
8+ years of professional experience in a relevant industry.
Theories of heat transfer and practical application (heaters and heating elements, thermal interfaces)
Theories of fluid mechanics and practical application (pumps, valves, etc.).
3D design/modeling (SolidWorks).
Component/Assembly design analysis.
System or subsystem modeling and simulation.
High volume consumer product design.
Design for Manufacturing and Design for Assembly principles and best practices.
Advanced 3D Modeling and Drafting using SolidWorks & Teamcenter.
Design for Six Sigma practices including Root Cause Analysis, 8D, A3, Design of Experiments, etc.
Statistics as applicable to high volume product design and manufacture.
Excellent oral and written communication skills.
An aptitude for creating and presenting data-based trade-off studies as input for decisions.
Ability to present status of development projects to management and stakeholders.
