As the Product Manager for our VGo telepresence robotics solution, you will take ownership of shaping the next generation of Vecna?s VGo robot and telehealth platform, including driving product development initiatives the entire product development lifecycle, from product concept through market delivery. We are looking for an enthusiastic product manager with a blend of mechanical engineering and product management experience to drive the future growth of our VGo product line and serve as the bridge between engineering, implementation, sales, and our customers. The selected individual will become student of the telepresence robotics and telehealth space to develop the business case for new product development initiatives as well as identify and translate market research into executable product requirements. You will work closely with engineering leadership to ensure a successful execution of new products and features. The product manager will play a significant role in helping shape the future VGo product roadmap. This is a full-time, salaried role. Responsibilities: Assess market needs through research, including customer interviews, meetings with prospective customers, as well as performing user research. Identify product requirements for new product development initiatives that can be translated into executable development stories within an Agile environment. Work closely with engineering counterparts to provide product direction and articulating the product end-state vision. Perform analysis and communicate build, buy, or partner recommendations to internal stakeholders. Translate mechanical engineering concepts into a language that can be consumed by a broad audience of technical and non-technical participants. Review and take ownership for the accuracy, completeness, and timeliness of mechanical engineering drawings/designs for new product development initiatives. Participate in sales activity as needed to represent the product. Assess competitive offerings and articulate principles of differentiation and strategies for competitive advantage. Prioritize among competing product opportunities to enable efficient development while supporting ongoing growth. Participate in market research related to product launch planning, branding, segmentation, product positioning, etc. Prepare the organization for going-to-market with new products and features. Drive the development of sales educational tools as well as support materials by attaining a thorough understanding of our products and the competitive environment. Develop product forecasts and track business performance against goals; formulate new approaches and strategies as needed. Research and identify potential grant opportunities to fund and drive future product growth and entrance into new market segments. Requirements: Bachelor?s Degree required; Degree in mechanical engineering or related discipline. PhD preferred. 3-5 years product management or related experience, preferably in the robotics space. Solid understanding of mechanical engineering or related principles to articulate requirements to engineering partners as well as to perform analysis and communicate build, buy, or partner recommendations to internal stakeholders. Experience researching and identifying grant opportunities to solicit funding for future product and market growth opportunities. Experience working with stakeholders representing the various cross-functional areas of the business. Exceptional communication skills, including a history of effectively influencing senior executives. Self-starter attitude and the ability to adapt as the roles evolves in a rapidly growing organization. Collaborative working style; experience working in an Agile environment strongly preferred.
