Your Key Responsibilities
Perform more advanced engineering design tasks on assigned projects under minimal supervision, including engineering drawings, engineering reports, presentations, and required applications to regulatory and/or funding agencies.
Develop project scope, budgets, and design approach for small size projects, and support marketing and business development professionals in positioning for potential projects, writing technical portions of proposals, participating in client interviews and supporting negotiations for project contracts.
Collaborate with stakeholders in client project requirement meetings, coordination meetings with internal and/or external consultants, owner and contractor, sub-contractors, and vendors in preparation and coordination of project specifications.
Lead project coordination meetings with internal team members and/or external consultants, owner and contractor, sub-contractors, and vendors.
Perform on technically complex projects and may act as a technical resource to other team members.
Apply advanced knowledge of current principles and practices of mechanical engineering and keeps informed of new methods and developments.
Apply knowledge and expertise acquired through progressive experience to resolve complex issues where precedent may be limited.
Assist and/or lead the development of proposals and contract negotiation.
Contribute to the development of new standards and specifications of mechanical design.
May supervise the work of other project resources, including setting the project budget and their schedules for completing the work in conjunction with Project Manager(s).
Engineer of record on own work product, work of non-licensed engineers and technologist.
Your Capabilities and Credentials
Specialization in industrial process piping design
Assist in the develop construction bid documents
Bid review, proposal development, and manhour estimates
Assist in the development of design document including isometrics, piping layouts, materials specifications, etc.
Perform pipe stress engineering analysis for complex units such as compressor piping, fired heater piping, high and low temperature piping systems.
Complete pipe stress analysis.
Knowledge of piping line class specifications, procurement, piping and fittings, pipe supports.
Develop and build Client relations.
Coordinate with the other engineering disciplines; specifically Piping Design, Structural, Control Systems, Process Engineering and Construction.
Assembling calculation packages for the sizing of piping and valves, etc.
General knowledge of industry standards and best practices including ASME, ASTM, ANSI, API, AWWA, HI, PPI, among others.
Assist with mechanical construction, startup, and commissioning field support: client, contractor, and vendor interaction.
Education and Experience
Minimum of bachelor’s degree Engineering with an emphasis in Mechanical Engineering
With a minimum of seven (7) years of related work experience or, an equivalent combination of education and experience to successfully perform the essential
Minimum of five (5) years of experience in the Industrial sector
Typical office environment working with computers and remaining sedentary for long periods of time. Field work may include exposure to the elements including inclement weather.
