The Facilities Manager is responsible for the management of site maintenance activities executed by a staff of skilled technicians. The Facilities Manager will provide expertise in maintaining total facility operations with the highest quality of service, adherence to all safety requirements, and with a sense of urgency. The Facilities Manager will support the cost-effective use of plant assets through establishment and use of appropriate maintenance techniques and programs. The programs are to be predictive and proactive in nature to strive for maximum equipment availability. The Facilities Manager will also work closely with the engineering staff, providing support in equipment design and selection, and providing resources for project scoping and execution.

Essential Duties and Responsibilities
Drive adherence to all safety standards and programs to ensure a safe work environment is achieved for direct staff, all site personnel, and external contractors.
Model all Curia and site safety standards through daily decisions, directives, and actions.
Adhere to all quality standards and GMP requirements.

Manage staff of direct reports utilizing various tools such as: daily discussion, routine 1:1 conversations, development of individual performance goals, setting vision for the department in line with site goals and objectives.
Ensure training and development plan is in place to meet daily business objectives and to enhance the skillset of department staff in line with business needs.
Direct the plant equipment reliability and preventative maintenance program, analyzing failures for root cause and developing means to prevent reoccurrence.
Manage process to ensure all planned preventative maintenance and calibration activities are planned and scheduled in coordination with production activities and external vendors.
Work closely with production supervisors and engineers to investigate maintenance problems and determine necessary repairs or improvements.
Ensure all maintenance documentation is completed in compliance with Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS) criteria.
Partner with Quality and Validation personnel to assess impact of all unplanned maintenance work performed with respect to qualified parameters or processes.
Partner with technical staff to troubleshoot and resolve critical equipment issues.
Actively monitor all maintenance related metrics and prepare routine reports regarding the health and performance of the maintenance department.
PROJECT SUPPORT/CONTINUOUS IMPROVEMENT
Provide project management to small- and medium-sized projects (up to $500,000 range) including project economic evaluation and justification, cost estimation, project scope development, Capital Asset Request package preparation, equipment specifications, bid evaluation and project schedule.
Plan, schedule, and coordinate all maintenance-related and continuous improvement activities for semi-annual production shutdown events.
Coordinate and supervise project-related construction activities, ensuring all external contractors adhere to and follow all site safety protocols.
Develop clear communication plans regarding non-routine work impacting site personnel.
Develop and maintain operating and start-up procedures for all facility support systems.
Develop and maintain maintenance support materials (spare parts, manuals, PM and calibration tasks, troubleshooting guides).
Maintain asset list for facility-related systems supporting long-term asset replacement strategy.
Establish and maintain continuous improvement programs with production, quality, and technical personnel to meet current regulatory compliance demands, reduce costs and improve productivity.
Execute all tasks within established budgetary constraints.
Education and/or Experience
Bachelor’s degree in Engineering, Engineering Technology or related field
Minimum 5-10 years maintenance and project experience in a GMP governed manufacturing environment, including 2 years experience in a management role
Experience with a Computerized Maintenance Management System (CMMS)
Experience in a GMP regulated industry preferred

Ability to logically troubleshoot plant problems, as well as generate and implement solutions in a team atmosphere
Excellent technical and leadership skills are required
Ability to read, analyze, and interpret technical drawings, general business periodicals, professional journals, technical procedures, or governmental regulations
Ability to write technical documents, reports, business correspondence, and procedure manuals
Ability to effectively present information and respond to questions from groups of managers, clients, customers, and the general public
Ability to calculate figures and amounts such as discounts, interest, commissions, proportions, percentages, area, circumference, and volume
Ability to apply concepts of basic algebra and geometry
Ability to solve practical problems and deal with a variety of concrete variables in situations where only limited standardization exists
Ability to interpret a variety of instructions furnished in written, oral, diagram, or schedule form

While performing the duties of this job, the employee is occasionally exposed to moving mechanical parts. The noise level in the work environment is usually quiet.
