What you need to have / Skills
Assess electrical/electronic component performance for suitability to consumer products over environmental conditions and to derating requirements.
Review part and assembly procurement drawings to ensure they are correctly specified, identifying the proper qualification sequence for any given part or assembly.
Evaluate supplier’s qualification processes and criteria for completeness analyzing the results to determine if the components meet quality and reliability requirements.
Identifies, evaluates, and selects electronic components and manufacturers for new design applications and/or continuing engineering support.
Design and execute evaluation test plans to obtain component qualitative data.
Review, create and modify parts and assembly documentation including Engineering Change Notice creation and processing.
Familiarity with failure analysis physics of failure approach to reliability preferred.
What would you do / Duties
Electrical Engineering representative in project team from charter phase until production and collaborate with Commodity Management, R&D and Plants.
Be a technical expert with identifying alternate and substitute suppliers for technology, cost reduction and suitability to the consumer electronics applications.
Working collaboratively with product engineering development teams.
Support strategy driving component supplier selection and standardization.
Lead sourcing of new components for NPIs, send RFQ's and analyze offers
Follow-up on supplier and material status during product development phase in order to ensure the acquisition in time
Control Electrical/Electronics BoM (Bill of Material) cost, coordinate and perform BOM calculations for reuse.
Support Cost Reduction Programs and continuous improvement for products
5+ years of relevant work experience
Bachelors of Science in Electrical Engineering preferred (field of Engineering, Physics, or related field of study
Good negotiation and communications skills
Knowledge of PLM tool a plus
Excellent communication skills including use of typical MSOffice tools.
Understanding of electrical/mechanical/electronic component materials and manufacturing and procurement processes desired.
The ability to work in a team and as an individual
The ability to work under pressure and with tight deadlines
