Dana-Farber Cancer Institute Senior Assistant Art Director – Digital & Video in Brookline, Massachusetts
The Senior Assistant Art Director – Digital and Video will be responsible for the creative direction and execution of graphic elements for digital and video projects, including online campaigns, social media content, brand videos, and other multimedia assets. The ideal candidate has a passion for storytelling through video and digital platforms, a keen eye for design, and the skills for producing high-impact visual content. This position reports to the Creative Director.
The Senior Assistant Art Director will play a key role in the collaboration between Business Units and all areas of Philanthropy Marketing and Communications to deliver high-quality, on brand marketing and communications content and materials.
The onboarding of this role will include a comprehensive training process which includes completion of online modules, shadowing colleagues, as well as hands-on learning experiences throughout the first calendar year in the role.

This position is considered remote, 0-1 days onsite at 10 Brookline Place, Brookline, MA each week. DFCI guidelines state that employees must reside in New England: Connecticut, Maine, Massachusetts, New Hampshire, Rhode Island, or Vermont.

Creative Direction:
In collaboration with Account Managers and BU contacts, lead and oversee the development of graphic elements for digital creative strategies, ensuring alignment with client goals and brand standards and in close touch with all areas of Philanthropy Marketing and Communications.
Collaborate with the Creative Director and other senior team members to set the visual direction for digital-first projects.
Develop and present creative concepts that are innovative, engaging, and tailored for digital platforms.
Work closely with video producers, editors, and animators to ensure that all video content meets creative standards and brand guidelines.
Oversee the design and development of digital content, including websites, online ads, social media graphics, and email campaigns.
Ensure that all digital assets are optimized for various platforms and devices, maintaining visual consistency across all touchpoints.
Design Leadership:
Oversee the design process from concept to final execution, ensuring consistency, clarity, and adherence to deadlines.
Work closely with UX/UI designers to ensure that all visual elements enhance user experience and accessibility.
Digital Innovation:
Stay ahead of the curve by continuously researching digital trends, new technologies, and industry best practices.
Bring fresh ideas to the table, challenging the team to think outside the box and explore new creative avenues.
Advocate for a digital-first approach in all aspects of creative work, ensuring that digital platforms are at the forefront of design considerations.
Collaboration:
Partner with account managers, strategists, developers, and marketing teams to create cohesive and impactful digital campaigns.
Foster a collaborative environment that encourages creativity, innovation, and teamwork across departments.
Client Collaboration:
Engage directly with Business Units to understand their vision, present creative concepts, and incorporate feedback into the final product.
Build strong client relationships, acting as a trusted advisor on all aspects of digital and video content creation.
Present ideas and work confidently, articulating the creative rationale behind decisions.
SUPERVISORY RESPONSIBILITIES:

Bachelor’s degree in graphic design, Multimedia Design, Fine Arts, or related field preferred. Minimum 5-7 years’ experience in a creative role, with a strong portfolio showcasing impactful multimedia design projects.
KNOWLEDGE, SKILLS, AND ABILITIES REQUIRED:
Expertise in Adobe Creative Suite, particularly After Effects, Premiere Pro, Photoshop, and Illustrator.
Strong understanding of digital marketing, UX/UI principles, and video production workflows.
Excellent storytelling skills, with a deep understanding of visual narrative techniques.
Strong communication and presentation skills, with the ability to articulate creative concepts effectively.
Experience in a digital agency or production company environment.
Knowledge of motion graphics, animation, and 3D design.
Familiarity with video editing software and post-production processes.
Experience with live-action and animated video content creation.

Office in typical office setting. A quiet workspace will be provided. Works on deadline. Some use of personal vehicle for business purposes may be required.
