Summary This position is the focus person for the shipping department and Point of contact, for all info needed for daily shipping operations. The Sr. Warehouse-Shipping Associate is a hands on position, which takes the lead in shipping operations maintaining a high degree of visibility and access to the employees on warehouse floor throughout the shift. The day-to-day: * Monitors email for any shipping updates * Works the shipping log to ensure all packing lists are prepared and emailed in a timely manner to appropriate personnel * Interacts and discusses with production supervisors any items needed for shipping that are not yet produced * Assigns shipments to be prepared to shipping associate(s) * Compares Items Required list to Job Files to verify all items needed have been either produced internally or received from outside sources. * Prepares packing lists based on Items Required list provided by office team. * Processes FedEx and UPS shipments using direction provided by office team. * Double checks shipments for accuracy. * Organizes shipping area to maximize available space * Directs Shipping Associate(s) in the daily activities of housekeeping to maintain a clean and safe work area * Operates manual and powered warehouse material handling * Maintains powered warehouse equipment assigned to the shipping area and reports any concerns to the warehouse manager * Discusses any process improvements, personnel issues and safety concerns with the Warehouse manager to seek changes and/or improvements * Maintains an acceptable driving record as this position requires the ability to operate the company vehicle. * Assists warehouse manager with development and implementation of policies and procedures; ensures all established policies and procedures are followed by crew * Maintains safety programs and all required safety training for the crew. * Performs required administrative tasks; prepares required reports and correspondence. * Performs other related duties as assigned by management. Qualifications: * High school diploma or general education degree (GED), or 3-5 years of equivalent combination of education and experience in a warehouse environment and more than 5 years of work experience in similar roles or manufacturing environment. * Must have the ability to work independently. * Strong attention to detail and follow-through skills * Working knowledge and understanding of WMS concepts. * Must be able to effectively present information in one-on-one and small group situations with other employees of the organization.
