State of Massachusetts South Shore Cape and Islands District Manager in Brockton, Massachusetts
Position Summary The South Shore Cape and Islands District Manager is responsible for the oversight of RMV service centers located within the SSCI District (Brockton, Plymouth, Nantucket, Martha's Vineyard, and South Yarmouth). The incumbent is expected to have a heavy focus on People, Process, and Technology in this role, and innovation. This involves coordination with and oversight of the Service Center Managers and site supervisors to ensure operational needs are being met to provide exceptional customer service to service center customers, while managing multiple high-level priorities. The major duties include the delegation of job tasks, employee development, team building, on-going project maintenance and evaluation of support systems, and overseeing the hiring and onboarding of new employees in the SSCI District. Duties and Responsibilities * Responsible for review of performance measurements versus performance results, quality controls, audit results and ensuring corrective action is taken, and strict adherence to policy and procedure. * Confirms adherence to security controls of revenue and documents are maintained, proper utilization of assets and compliance to safety guidelines for the service center, staff, and customers each service center in the district. * Coordinates operational changes that may include changes in service centers and locations, as well as business process re-engineering to improve customer flow to minimize customer wait times in the service centers. * The incumbent also is expected to serve as a subject matter expert for project development and implementation, including technology innovation efforts. The incumbent also serves as a conduit of information to ensure the accurate and timely dissemination of information, policies, and procedures to district staff. * Duties also include the management of personnel related matters, including but not limited to staff coaching, development and mentoring; monitoring of attendance and operational impact of absenteeism; and conducting effective employee performance evaluations and progressive documented discipline. * The District Manager also may be required to participate in state-wide division initiatives, including monitoring of customer wait times; ensuring the adherence to customer service best practices; and business project development and implementation, including staff training efforts, and working with Senior Staff in implement new State Laws relating to Transportation and the RMV. * The incumbent may be required to participate in community forums and industry events hosted by division business partners to represent the division and MassDOT. Daily travel to different business locations within the region and additional travel throughout the State is to be expected.
