Brockton Hospital Director, Facility Maintenance in Brockton, Massachusetts
To oversee all building related activities across Signature Healthcare system. Responsible for preserving the good condition of infrastructure and ensure that facilities are safe and well-functioning. Plans, designs, and coordinates construction activities for assigned construction and renovation projects, coordinates moves across the Signature Healthcare system. Four to seven years of diverse experience in construction and facilities management, including three to five years of supervisory experience. Familiarity with all aspects of support services and infrastructure within a medical facility. Leadership experience with a focus on quality, efficiency and customer service. Successful track record in managing multiple projects. Candidate must possess management, interpersonal and staff development skills and must be able to read schematics and blueprints. Must be knowledgeable of hospital buildings, mechanical and electrical equipment and safety procedures. Knowledge of JCAHO, OSHA, DPH, EPA, NFPA, State Building Codes and infection control guidelines for work in a healthcare facility. Must have excellent interpersonal and communication skills. Ability to successfully coordinate the activities of hospital staff and contactors in multiple simultaneous projects. Must be able to conduct work related training sessions effectively and independently. Excellent supervisory skills required.
Knowledge of principles of project management for building construction; experience and proficiency in budgeting and cost estimating; knowledge of the theory and practices of engineering and architecture related to the design and construction of hospital buildings and their mechanical, electrical and other energy systems; principals of design for comfort, ADA accessibility, safety, operational effectiveness and efficiency, and convenience of health care buildings.
Thorough knowledge of all applicable building, life safety, fire and health codes and regulations applicable to renovations and new construction including DPH, Joint Commission, Mass Building Code, OSHA, and NFPA is required.
Strong interpersonal communication skills including the ability to facilitate efficient, productive meetings, the ability to resolve conflicts in a professional manner and a demonstrated history of satisfied clients is required. Must be able to able to manage multiple priorities, objectives, and deadlines. Must have project management skills to lead projects with little oversight from management. Must have strong financial background with ability to track multiple disbursements and a demonstrated history of completing project within budget. Must have proven knowledge of reading and interpreting blue prints and related documents. Bachelor’s Degree or Associates Degree in plant engineering or factory/plant maintenance; minimum five to seven years of progressive experience and responsibility in a maintenance field, three to five of those years holding a supervisory position directing a multifunctional maintenance staff; CHFM preferred; MS Word, Excel, Access, Power Point; MA construction Supervisors License.
