The Manufacturing Engineer will support the manufacture of medical implants and devices by identifying and implementing machining and other necessary manufacturing processes. Responsibilities include process definition, implementation, troubleshooting and process improvements to support the daily operation of the organization.
Develop and implement manufacturing processes for single level parts and multi-level assemblies. Processes may include machining, various finishing applications, cleaning/passivation, and assembly.
Support the development of manufacturing processes on various 3-axis, 4-axis, 5-axis, and multi-spindle equipment such as CNC lathes, mills, swiss, and wire EDM machines.
Develop machining solutions for various medical grade materials including stainless steels, titanium, cobalt chrome, plastics, etc.
Generate, evaluate, and modify 3D solid models using SolidWorks. Develop process, fixture, and gage drawings for production use.
Generate CNC programs using MasterCAM and Partmaker software.
Interpret production drawings using Geometric Dimensioning and Tolerancing (GD&T)
Use appropriate tools and resources to conduct inspection of manufactured parts.
Prepare or review documentation with a high degree of accuracy, completeness, and effectiveness using common engineering tools & templates where available.
Plan and execute project activities within a cross functional team. Project types can include new product development and introduction, manufacturing transfers, continuous improvement and cost reduction initiatives.
Work with team members to determine project prioritization and achieve on-time project delivery.
Effectively communicate project status with all team members & stakeholders on a daily basis.
Support and participate in continuous improvement activities
Use structured problem solving techniques and statistical methods for data driven analysis and decision making rationale.
Apply lean manufacturing techniques to continuously improve cycle times and process flows. Identifies, and supports the execution of process improvement efforts.
Apply DMAIC- Six Sigma approaches to solve issues and reduce variation in all manufacturing.
Communicate effectively with customers, vendors, and others within the organization.
Follow and adhere to standard work.
Maintain records of manufacturing operations and perform all duties within regulatory and corporate requirements.
Demonstrate technical ability through the application of engineering skills, approaches and knowledge.
Demonstrate leadership through mentoring of junior staff and responsiveness to business needs to achieve positive results.
Perform all duties with a safety first mentality.

Bachelor of Science degree in Engineering/technical field or 5+ years professional experience in a production/manufacturing environment is preferred for this role.
