Fortive Corporation Repair Technician III in Boxborough, Massachusetts

Position summary:

Setra Systems is seeking a motivated Repair Technician III to join our team. This person will be a key player within our operations team as they will be responsible for all repairs, testing and calibrating of customer returns within their designated area. Fast paced work environment, great team environment. Successful candidates will have the ability to grow their skills and help develop and mentor their peers in the organization.

Key responsibilities:

  • Complete all repairs, testing and calibrating for assigned focus factory.

  • Maintain a 95% on time delivery (OTD) of all customer returns.

  • Maintains detailed records and documentation of repair information.

  • Delegate work to production cells as required.

  • Train cell associates & mentor associates to drive process improvements.

  • Lead root cause analysis and drive countermeasure on all product repairs, collaborate with production and quality teams

  • Lead implementation of continuous improvement tools in repairs and production

    Qualifications:

  • This position requires a candidate with high energy who is dedicated and has excellent communication skills.

  • Ability to independently schedule and prioritize workload.

  • Is not afraid to deal with conflict.

  • Leads corrective action with area supervisor and quality team as needed.

  • Accountable for turnaround time and backlog of returns

  • Proven track record to troubleshoot to subassembly level across multiple product lines.

  • Solid Microsoft Office and PC skills.

  • Technical skills include calibration, environmental testing, & soldering skills.

  • Proven ability to lead, drive and implement results.

  • Ability to communicate and drive actions across a diverse work place.

  • Must keep customer needs prioritized.

    Required Skills/Experience:

  • Ability to reason through problems and resolve them to the customer’s satisfaction using information and tools available.

  • Must be able to read and understand schematics, assembly drawings and test / calibration procedures

  • Strong and proven root cause analysis and implementation of corrective action

  • Experience with PC based application to include Microsoft Office Package and email.

  • Soldering skills – Solder, de-solder surface mount, traces on PCB’s

  • Knowledge of ESD

  • Accuracy and attention to detail.

  • Professional and strong verbal/written communication skills

  • 5+ years experience in testing, troubleshooting and repair of equipment and processes.

  • 1+ years experience in Lean Manufacturing

  • AS in electronics or electrical engineering or equivalent work experience required.

    Desired Skills/Experience:

  • 7+ years’ experience in testing, troubleshooting and repair of equipment and processes.

  • BS degree in a technical field from an accredited school or equivalent on the job training.

    Education:

    High school diploma or equivalent required
