Fortive Corporation Planner in Boxborough, Massachusetts

The Planner will be responsible for planning material that supports production needs to deliver high-quality product on-time and at a cost target that supports the business needs. Management of material flow and JIT inventory using Kanban, visual management, and an understanding of expense material replenishment methodologies is essential to the role. Timely communication between the supply chain and production team via daily management is critical to the success of the Planner. Demonstrating the use of daily management and a passion for continuous improvement is an imperative part of the Planner I role.

Key Responsibilities :

  • Assists in executing action plans and problem-solving activities to support team in meeting or exceeding performance for on time delivery targets and inventory management goals.

  • Plan product line in accordance with Operation’s commit dates.

  • Utilizes best practices in inventory replenishment strategies, scheduling work orders and exercising exception message reports to ensure proper flow of materials and just in time (JIT) inventory.

  • Responsible for product line material accuracy and presentation. Including material presentation (MRP or Kanban), KPI and Kanban board management, inventory accuracy and audit requirements.

  • Review potential stockouts and past due purchase orders, expedite as needed, and communicate timely updates to the production team through daily management.

  • Process non-conforming materials in MRB in a timely manner.

  • Act as backup to receiving and shipping duties as needed.

  • Support the Buyer in resolution of invoice discrepancies with suppliers as needed (utilizing transaction analyses and inventory validation or other methods as appropriate).

  • Understanding of unique material requirements of assigned product lines (e.g., lead times, availability, yield)

  • Maintain inventory accuracy; reconcile daily cycle count discrepancies, metric reporting, assist in PI Exemption submission and Cycle Count set ups.

  • Active participation in daily management to drive continuous improvement results.

    QUALIFICATIONS:

  • 1-3 years MRP planning experience in a manufacturing environment with BOM’s and a build to order environment.

  • Excellent planning, organizational and problem-solving skills.

  • Candidate must be self-motivated and a team player.

  • Demonstrated ability to write well and communicate clearly and effectively.

  • Proficient knowledge of Excel

    Required Skills/Experience:

  • MRP

  • Material Handling

  • Oracle MRP system

  • Planning experience

  • Supply Chain degree preferred.

  • Understanding of inventory replenishment methodologies

  • Understand simple to medium complexity BOM structures

  • Understanding of part types and ERP processing differences

    Education

  • College Degree required

  • APICS Certifications

  • Equivalent on the job experience

    TRAVEL: No overnight travel required for the position
