The Program Manager for WWRACE Key Events is a critical role to the success of executing enablement events at VMware. The Program Manager is, essentially, the operational hub across key events and for each individual event from the kickoff to the debrief of an event. The main responsibility for the WWRACE Key Event Program Manager is to oversee the execution of each individual event, managing the cross-functional workstream engagement and collaborating with the workstream leads that are responsible for different components of a key event.

The Program Manager will collaborate with the Key Event Strategy Lead to ensure that the strategy of key events is being communicated to all of the relevant leaders and cross-functional teams. They will take the Vision and Strategy of an event from the Strategy lead and build the scope and execution plan to deliver the overall program. The Program Manager will work with the following teams: Enablement Strategy, Content Project Managers, Platform, AV, Reporting, Communications, Localization, Corp Events and more…

During the event execution phase, the Program Manager will own core team and cross-functional workstream calls, communicating the cadence and operational processes of each event at kickoff. They will collect and document status of each workstream and ensure that each workstream is executing to the overall workback plan. They will escalate to the Key Event Strategy lead and/or WWRACE leadership when obstacles arise to ensure that the obstacles are removed in a timely manner.

The WWRACE Key Event Program Manager should be passionate about enablement and collaborating with global teams. They should have experience working with and leading execution with multiple teams. They should love automation and collaboration tools and be innovative in automating and streamlining processes to drive the scalability of a program. They should be obsessed with attention to detail but understand how to deliver succinct communications with an energy and passion for the success of the key events program.

Required Skills:

  • 5 years + Event Program Management

  • Virtual/hybrid Event Experience

  • Working with global teams

  • Leading Cross-functional teams

  • Collaboration Tools: MS Teams, MS Project, Sharepoint, Smartsheet, etc.

  • Certification: PMP Certification or similar
