About the Role
The Vice President of Assessment Development Services is responsible for driving strategy, operational excellence, and innovation in assessment development and operations. This role oversees the functions of accessibility, content, publishing, and operations. The VP will be instrumental in leading the modernization of systems and workflows, incorporating AI and cutting-edge tools to optimize efficiency and scalability. As a change leader, this individual will foster a culture of continuous improvement, adaptability, and innovation to meet evolving market needs and exceed customer expectations.
This role can be a remote US position with some US travel required.
Key Responsibilities:
Strategic Leadership
Develop and implement a forward-thinking strategy for assessment development services that integrates innovative, AI-driven solutions to enhance content creation and delivery workflows.
Lead the transformation to a digital-first approach, ensuring processes and tools support scalability, accessibility, and customer satisfaction.
Champion a culture of change, fostering adaptability, collaboration, and innovation across the organization.
Operational Excellence
Oversee all functional areas, including Accessibility, Content, Publishing, and Operations, with a focus on delivering high-quality, accessible assessments on time and within budget.
Establish and monitor performance metrics, driving accountability and continuous improvement in all areas of delivery.
Financial Management
Own the P&L for Assessment Development Services, ensuring financial health while investing in transformative technologies and processes.
Develop and manage budgets, optimize resource allocation, and ensure cost-effectiveness without compromising quality or accessibility.
Innovation and Digital Transformation
Lead the adoption of AI technologies to enhance content creation, publishing workflows, and accessibility solutions, driving efficiency and reducing time to market.
Evaluate and implement state-of-the-art tools for managing complex operations, including paper production, braille formatting, and digital content delivery.
Encourage exploration of new methodologies and technologies to maintain a competitive edge in the market.
Team Leadership and Development
Build, mentor, and inspire a high-performing team, ensuring alignment with organizational goals and values.
Cultivate a diverse and inclusive culture that values innovation, accountability, and excellence.
Promote professional development and growth opportunities for team members.
About You
Key Experiences & skills:
Demonstrated success leading in K12 Assessment – including but not limited to state and district contracts, assessment development, content creation, publishing, or operations functions with a focus on accessible digital and paper-based deliverables, including braille.
Extensive experience managing P&L, large-scale operations, and complex workflows in a regulated environment.
Understanding of facilities, processes, and tools required for paper and braille operations, with knowledge of ISO standards and best practices.
Strong track record of leading digital transformations and implementing enhanced workflows and outcomes.
Experience managing large-scale, high-stakes projects with diverse stakeholder groups.
Proven ability to lead and inspire teams through organizational change.

Compensation at Pearson is influenced by a wide array of factors including but not limited to skill set, level of experience, and specific location. As required by the Colorado, California, Washington State, New York State and New York City laws, the pay range for this position is as follows:
The minimum full-time salary range is between $175,000 - $200,000.
