Job Summary

The Vice President of Clinical Affairs is a critical role at BehaveCare. This position has full responsibility for managing a community based team made up of both clinical and non-clinical employees in multiple markets serving multiple clients. The Vice President of Clinical Affairs will lead large teams and also have significant interaction with clients and other stakeholders outside of the organization, so he or she must be a strong and results-driven leader internally while exhibiting diplomacy and a ?customer first? attitude externally. Extensive experience leading teams of people and championing positive culture is critical in this role, as this position will have responsibility for day to day management of the clinical operations. Significant case management experience is necessary for success in this role. Also paramount to success in this role is the ability to reduce cost and improve quality in a community setting. The candidate must have demonstrated results in achieving both clinical and business success.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Accountable for ensuring clinical team is consistently achieving productivity, financial and quality metrics.

  • Manages the coordination of patient care and resource needs to facilitate care transitions and prevent unnecessary readmissions and Emergency Department visits.

  • Analyzes population management data and resources to identify at risk patients, provide education and remove barriers to care plan compliance.

  • Collaborates, assesses and makes recommendations to clinical and business leadership to identify opportunities for improvement in patient care management and optimum resource utilization.

  • Ensures the development of comprehensive care plans and adherence to those plans; makes adjustments as necessary

  • Identifies and manages training and development programs to ensure consistent population health and care management processes.

  • Ensures clinical competency and skills assessment is completed annually for clinical staff, and provides oversight and support for staff that require remediation or additional training to achieve compliance.

  • Works in collaboration with Operations leadership to establish documentation standards, and recommended workflows and policies and procedures for clinical staff.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Candidate must have a minimum of ten years nursing experience (RN required) and shall be certified as a case manager by a recognized certifying organization, i.e. Commission for Case Management Certification or American Nurse Credentialing Center.

  • Minimum of five years full-time direct clinical care, preferably in both inpatient and outpatient environments

  • Candidate must possess a minimum of 5 years Case Management experience, population health experience is a plus, preferably in more than one geographic area

  • Ideal candidate will have experience with SDOH and understand our different cohorts

  • 5 to 7 years of experience directly managing diverse clinical teams is required

  • 3 to 5 years in the insurance industry, managed care support, or utilization review is preferred

  • Bachelor's Degree in Health Administration, Public Health or other Medical Degree is required, MBA is a significant plus

  • Proficiency in conversational Spanish is a plus

  • Must be willing to travel up to 50% during the workweek to various offices and client sites as needed
