About the VP of Account Management Position

The Account Management team is instrumental in driving this forward and is responsible for building strong relationships, helping to solve our client’s business challenges and to see the next great opportunity. As we continue to grow, we are looking for a new VP of Account Management to join our team on this exciting journey!
As the Vice President of Account Management, you will play a pivotal role in driving client satisfaction, revenue growth, and long-term client relationships. You will lead a team of account directors, account managers and account coordinators who are responsible for their assigned portfolios and collaborate closely with cross-functional teams to ensure the success and retention of our valued clients. This role reports directly to the Chief Client Officer.
Manage and train a high-performing team of account professionals to succeed as Verndale enters its next growth phase
Set clear performance expectations and provide ongoing coaching and feedback.
Foster a collaborative and results-driven team culture
Drive internal education and client adoption of new products and services
Account Strategy and Growth
Work with your account teams to develop and implement account strategies to achieve revenue and growth targets
Ensure account directors and account managers create customized account plans for each client
Monitor account health and proactively address issues to ensure client satisfaction and retention
Client Relationship Management
Act as primary point of escalation for client-related issues
Develop and maintain strong relationships with key clients
Assist account teams to identify and facilitate upsell and cross-sell opportunities
Collaboration with Cross-Functional Teams
Work with leaders of Project Management, Technology, Strategy, Creative and Digital Marketing to align strategies, ensure seamless client experiences and maximize LTV
Advocate for client needs and provide feedback to internal teams to improve products and services
Data Analysis and Reporting:
Utilize data and analytics to assess account performance and identify opportunities for improvement
Prepare regular reports and presentations for senior leadership and clients
Bachelor's degree in Business, Marketing, or a related field
10+ years of experience in account management, with 3+ years in a leadership role
10+ years of enterprise-level experience in the delivery of digital projects, including web sites, mobile applications, eCommerce technology, marketing automation, etc.
5+ years of previous experience managing and/or supervising a staff with responsibility for interviewing, hiring, and training employees; planning, assigning, and directing work; appraising performance; addressing complaints and resolving problems
Proven track record of achieving and exceeding revenue targets
Strong strategic thinking, problem-solving, and negotiation skills
Excellent communication and interpersonal abilities
Proficiency in CRM software and data analysis tools
