User Experience Researcher – eCommerce & Optimization

The User Experience Researcher - eCommerce & Optimization will have extensive experience with online, consumer-facing properties, deep understanding of analytics and drivers of conversion and retention. You will craft and execute the appropriate strategy and methodology, both quantitative and qualitative, to deliver meaningful, data-driven insights that represent the voice of multiple customers. Your work will support web strategy, marketing, and product to ultimately deliver web experiences that are optimal, drive better user experiences that support conversion and help build products that are intuitive and easy to use.
What you'll do:
Lead, design and execute optimization efforts relating to web site and ecommerce site user flow, its features and functionality with the focus on optimizing user experience and maximizing conversion rates.
Lead, design and execute generative and evaluative UX design research efforts (e.g., usability testing, A/B testing, conversion optimization testing, one-on-one interviews, heuristic evaluations, competitor assessments, experience maps, usability assessments, internal benchmarking, co-design activities, surveys, card sorting, tree testing) ensuring the right strategy and methodology are utilized to deliver meaningful results.
Clearly and persuasively communicate research results and provide findings and recommendations to internal stakeholders via impactful presentations and research assets. Gather and analyze digital marketing metrics and KPIs. Proficiency in data tools, Google Analytics, Optimizely and Looker to gather and analyze data.
Build and communicate deep understanding of our users' needs, goals, and workflows, turning qualitative and quantitative user research into insights and artifacts which will craft the future of our web experiences, marketing/web strategy and products.
Collaborate with analytics teams, marketing, web strategy, designers, product managers, technology product managers, engineering, leadership to identify knowledge gaps and propose and plan methodology to gain conversion, web optimization and needed insights.
Skills You Will Need Here:
Strong understanding of customer experience and its relationship with direct revenue generation
Excellent communication and strong client facing skills, ability to explain sophisticated analysis in simple terms and convert analysis into real world measurable solutions
Autonomous, hands-on experience designing, programming, synthesizing and delivering research initiatives from beginning to end:
initial project design and set up
data collection and processing
and communication of findings and recommendations.
Proactive with the ability to think out-of-the-box to bring the consumer to life in an impactful way, delivering measurable insight and deep consumer understanding of motivations, attitudes, and behaviors.
Enthusiastic and passionate about research and UX
5+ years of work experience in B2C UX research, web optimization or eCommerce
BS in Human Computer Interaction, UX, or related bachelor’s degree with a strong background in business, market research, or behavioral sciences (e.g., Math/Stats, Psychology, Communication, Behavioral Economics/Decision Sciences, etc.)
3+ years of first-hand, work experience with: A/B Testing, Multi-Variant testing, Content/Message testing, Usability, eCommerce: web optimization/conversion techniques, beta tests, product experiments benefit testing and survey design and analysis.
Experienced user of digital research and project management tools: Optimizely, Google Analytics, Looker, UserZoomGo, Hot Jar (heat mapping tools), Content/Message testing tools, Qualtrics, online qualitative discussion boards/focus groups, SmartSheets etc.
Experience applying cutting edge user experience research strategies and techniques to a variety of projects and initiatives. Proven success planning and implementing conversion and retention strategies to drive online revenue. Data-driven and proficient in analyzing website user flows
Excellent project management and thought leadership skills; strong collaboration/teamwork skills; a problem-solver with a results-orientated approach.
