Boston University TRAINING/CHANGE MANAGEMENT SPECIALIST,FIN Sourcing & Procurement in BOSTON, Massachusetts

The Training/Change Management Specialist is a key member of the Sourcing and Procurement team at Boston University.

Major duties of the position include:

  • Deliver training and change management capabilities to support the daily operation and overall strategy of Sourcing & Procurement at Boston University.

  • Develop and implement a comprehensive training and change management strategy to encompass all internal and externally facing activities of Sourcing & Procurement at Boston University. Elements of the strategy will define all training, communications, and delivery methods.

  • Develop and implement a scalable training program to comprehensively deliver content for all S&P-related systems and best-practice process methodologies, using a combination of live and recorded sessions (i.e., classroom setting, office hours, Zoom calls, FAQ documents). Maintain all current training materials for easy retrieval, and store historical versions in a well-documented repository.

  • Develop and deliver a comprehensive communication program for all customer and supplier-facing activities external to the Sourcing & Procurement department. Manage internal department communications in coordination with leadership. Utilize departmental communication tools such as Sourcing News, website, social media, and monthly operational reports to facilitate appropriate outreach.

  • Coordinate and manage the Sourcing & Procurement website (, content, and updates using intermediate Word Press skills in support of Sourcing & Procurement communications.

Required Skills

  • B.A./B.S. in business, finance, accounting, management, nonprofit administration, or public administration

  • 3+ years of experience with demonstrated proficiency in:

  • Public speaking, written and interpersonal communication skills

  • Organizational skills and the ability to prioritize and manage concurrent projects with multiple stakeholders

  • Ability to lead with vision and motivate others

  • Professionalism, good judgment, and integrity

  • Experience working with html-based website publishing software (Word Press preferred)

  • Experience working with social media

  • Detail oriented, demonstrating accuracy and quality of work output

  • Ability to work optimally and collaboratively in a small, collegial team environment

  • Self-motivated, proactive, intellectually curious

    Preferred Skills:

Three years of experience working in a Sourcing & Procurement function with exposure to a relevant eProcurement system, such as SAP Ariba.
