What you'll do here: As a Technology Solutions Partner (TSP) for eCommerce, you'll help pioneer eCommerce technology solutions that enable our business to transform the ways we interact with our customers. This is a highly visible and high impact role on our Global Technology Solutions (GTS) team! Know our customers: + Understand how our customers across Business Units purchase products from us (e.g. physical, digital, subscription, rental). + Understand the use-cases and differentiation between the business-to-consumer purchase paths vs. the business-to-business purchase paths. + Insightfully understand customer difficulties. Know your internal business customers: + Understand eCommerce needs, workflows, value drivers, decision-making processes, as well as unstated intentions/goals. + Understand the role of eCommerce technology and systems in use as well as how emerging and enterprise technologies can support business needs. Know our business: + Understand business context – mission, strategy, market differentiators (account activations, sell through, sources of growth), etc. + Understand the education markets we serve – Higher Education, Workforce Skills, Secondary Education, English Language Teaching, and Research – and their product offerings, competitors, path to market, and diverse commerce needs. Make bold business decisions: + Enable decisions that move our commerce and marketing partners forward while understanding associated risks and implications. + Clearly balance 'reusability/scale' considerations to make diverse decisions that deliver value. + Actively lead technology risk, debt, and non-functional requirements. Be an Integrator: + Lead and drive communication at all levels. + Maintain an open, updated and prioritized backlog along with easy to understand user intent/value stories. Know our platforms and systems: + Demonstrate foundational understanding of our systems and architecture. + Maintain awareness of our evolving business technology roadmap. + Optimally communicate vision, business value and strategy to technical teams and partners. Own and lead the digital delivery process: + Understand the overall process and ‘idea to build’ process. + Lead, prioritize and complete the program roadmap through detailed requirements and communication across teams. + Take time to invest in planning the next build cycle during the current build cycle. Define, implement, & deliver technical solutions to business problems: + Clearly document and articulate 'the why' of what we're doing to ensure user goals for each requirement are understood by the team and partners. + Effectively lead and groom backlog, with sufficient lead time for the team to plan the work. Skills you'll need here: + BA/BS degree + 5+ years of experience in a role supporting product/program/project management in a technical environment. + Experience working directly with Business Unit leaders and ensuring technology alignment to implement strategic goals + Strong breadth of experience working closely – with well-rounded expertise - across multiple different business functions (e.g. Finance, Sales, Product, Service, Support, Marketing, etc.) + Shown success using data analysis to make significant recommendations + Ability to creatively identify and quantify new opportunities for impacting organizational change. + Proficient at written and verbal presentation skills needed to present information and recommendations to diverse and often senior audiences. + Collaborative problem solving and work style that can lead change through influence. + Able to self-manage progress against work with a high degree of urgency and accountability. + Experienced with business case creation and validation. + Customer focused with a strong service and solutions orientation. Preferred: + Strong functional and technical knowledge of financial processes, ERP, CRM, Commerce. + Consulting experience in process optimization, SaaS implementations, digital transformation + Experience partnering with business leadership to align strategy with the technology roadmap. + Experience with multi-functional business practices and management metrics. + Experience working in or supporting businesses operating in international markets – specifically: EMEA, Asia/Australia, Latin America. + MBA or graduate level education Cengage Group is proud to be an Equal Employment Opportunity and Affirmative Action employer.
