UnitedHealth Group Technical Lead Software Engineering - Next Gen Healthcare Platforms in Boston, Massachusetts
The Lead Software Engineer will be joining a fast-paced team and will play a highly visible role in the expansion of one of the largest Healthcare Graph Database implementations.
You will be the Technical Lead for an application/domain area and will drive product implementation and delivery. As a Lead within the Software Engineering team of about 50+ engineers, you will be accountable for owning and driving the end-to-end Technical Implementation for Next Generation Health Care AnalyticsProduct Platform supporting Cross-Domain Analysis.
PrimaryResponsibilities
Designand develop innovative solutions to meet the needs of the business
Interactwith business partners and other stakeholders including executive leadership
UseModern, Cloud enabled, Agile Dev/Ops approaches to enrich, transform andanalyze data.
Providetechnology leadership - Lead technology decisions, drive product implementationand delivery
Define and documentstandards and guidelines
Review code and providefeedback relative to best practices, improving performance etc.
Consult with developmentusers; determine requirements and recommend solutions
Assists in development ofsystems and procedures affecting design and maintenance
Participate in productevaluations, design review session, data requirement meetings
Performance and Tuning ofinfrastructure components
Demonstrate substantialdepth of knowledge and experience in data engineering, API development andgraph-based approaches to analytic development
Provideexecution \ delivery leadership - Support the implementation and drive it tostable state in production
Provide alternate designsolutions along with project estimates
Troubleshoot productionsupport issues post-deployment and come up with solutions as required
Drive the team andcollaborate to meet project timelines
Review project deliverablesfor completeness, quality, and compliance with established project standards
Document and communicatethe status of progress against plans, taking corrective action as necessary
Identify, clarify, andresolve project activity issues and risks, escalating them as needed
Review technicaldocumentation to verify compliance with client requirements and establishedarchitectural standards and guidelines
Assisting withcommunication interfaces/integration to associated systems
Upholds enterprise policyguidelines and recommends new and improved guidelines

RequiredQualifications
Bachelor'sDegree in Computer Science/IT/Math/Engineering, or equivalent work experience
1 year or more as a Technical SME or team lead mentor
5+years of Data Engineering or Analytics / Analysis experience
5+years of Java API or data externalization experience
Experienceworking in an Agile environment (Scrum/SAFe)
Must have 2or more of the following:
Experience with Designingand developing streams-based data processing. Kafka, Spark, Scala, Go.
Experience with designingand developing REST APIs / microservices. Spring, Spring boot, Java, Go, NoSQLDatabases
Exposure to graph databasesand graph-based data analysis. Neo4j, TigerGraph, Cosmos DB or similar
Exposure to BigData stack -Hadoop, HBase, Cassandra or similar NOSQL
If you needto enter a work site for any reason, you will be required to screen forsymptoms using the ProtectWell mobile app, Interactive Voice Response (i.e.,entering your symptoms via phone system) or a similar UnitedHealthGroup-approved symptom screener. When in a UnitedHealth Group building,employees are required to wear a mask in common areas. In addition, employeesmust comply with any state and local masking orders.
Work locations are either Boston, MA or Eden Prairie, MN
PreferredQualifications: (Beneficial to have)
HealthcareIndustry experience (healthcare analytics desired)
Experiencewith graph databases and graph-based data analysis. Neo4j, TigerGraph, CosmosDB or similar
Experienceworking with to BigData/NOSQL stack - Hadoop, HBase,Cassandra or similar
Exposureusing NLP or Machine learning based approaches with Python or TensorFlow
