The Impact You’ll Make in this Role

Provide field-based services for assigned territory and customers. Serves as a liaison between Field Service, and Service Engineering, as the first level of escalation in solving complex technical problems. Coordinates site planning and installation activities working with customer, vendors, and local sales reps to ensure all aspects on planning are complete and accurate. Provides remote or on-site direction and diagnostic assistance to customers.

This position will require you to meet hospital credentialing requirements for onsite customer visits.

As a Technical Service Field Representative, you will have the opportunity to tap into your curiosity and collaborate with some of the most innovative and diverse people around the world. Here, you will make an impact by:

  • Installing, troubleshooting and repairing assigned equipment including 3M™ Steri-vac™ Sterilizers in hospital and industrial environments

  • Providing Preventative Maintenance

  • Consulting to and providing In-Service training for customers

  • Selling Sterilizers, service agreements, charge service activities and generating sales leads on 3M products

  • Managing company van, parts & tools inventory

  • Building positive customer relationships and delivering “best in class” service experiences

  • Willingness to be on-call

Company Vehicle

This position requires driving a company vehicle, which will require pre-employment and ongoing review of motor vehicle history for candidates who are offered and hired for this position (if applicable)

Your Skills and Expertise

To set you up for success in this role from day one, 3M requires (at a minimum) the following qualifications:

  • Associate or two-year technical degree or higher (completed and verified prior to start) from an accredited institution

  • Three (3) years of experience providing service on equipment in a private, public, government, or military environment

  • Current, Valid Driver’s license is required, as you will be issued a company vehicle for this position

Additional qualifications that could help you succeed even further in this role include:

  • Bachelor’s degree in engineering, computer science or another technical field

  • Three years of experience trouble shooting, providing preventative maintenance, and repairing hospital or industrial equipment

  • Ability to push or pull electromechanical equipment that weighs at least 50 pounds

  • Experience consulting to and providing In-Service training for customers

  • Experience managing a company van, parts, and tools inventory

  • Skills include territory management and a habit of continuous learning

Service Territory: Primarily in MA, NY, CT, RI, ME, NH, VT

Travel: Includes daily travel mostly within the territory with the potential for overnight travel of approximately 35%

Relocation Assistance: Maybe authorized

Must be legally authorized to work in country of employment without sponsorship for employment visa status (e.g., H1B status).
