It is an exciting time to join KPMG as we expand our Strategic Sourcing & Procurement organization and stand up a Third-Party Risk function for the US firm. KPMG is currently seeking a a highly skilled and experienced Software/SaaS Category Manager to join our Strategic Sourcing and Procurement team.

Responsibilities:

  • Take the lead in driving complex, enterprise-wide sourcing initiatives and contract negotiations for a wide range of software and SaaS solutions, including industry leaders such as AWS, GCP, Microsoft, Oracle, and SAP; work closely with stakeholders from across the organization, including technology, finance, and business teams, to craft and execute contracts that meet the unique needs of our U.S. operations; collaborate on a global scale and make a significant impact in shaping our strategic sourcing landscape

  • Use your subject matter expertise to Introduce best practices, identify opportunities, and set goals intended to drive alignment with your stakeholder; draw on your expertise level knowledge to develop innovative supplier negotiation strategies that will optimize spend and maximize buying power while also prioritizing service quality and performance; add a focus on risk mitigation to ensure that we minimize exposure and safeguard our operations

  • Apply your strategic mindset to Identify, rationalize and optimize opportunities within the realm of Enterprise Software and SaaS infrastructure; leverage your knowledge and skills, help streamline processes, maximize efficiency, and ensure compliance

  • Remain at the forefront of the industry by conducting comprehensive market research and continuously monitoring current business trends, industry changes, cost drivers, global pricing, market conditions, and economic indicators

  • Stay informed to identify new and alternative sources of supply, ensuring that we remain agile and adaptable in a rapidly evolving marketplace; use insights and expertise to drive strategic decision-making and position us for success in an ever-changing business landscape

  • Drive significant cost savings and cost avoidance by proactively identifying new opportunities, such as enterprise discount programs, long-term contracts, and commit to consume models; take a strategic approach to enable us to optimize our purchasing power and negotiate favorable terms that align with our long-term goals; manage specific supplier relationships, ensuring ongoing performance management, quality control, cost optimization, and adherence to contractual commitments

Qualifications:

  • Minimum five years of recent experience in strategic sourcing, procurement, or vendor management, with a focus on software and SaaS commodities

  • Bachelor's degree from an accredited college/university in a relevant field is required; MBA or advanced degree from an accredited college/university preferred

  • Deep understanding of software trends, commercial models, and industry-specific terminology; proven track record of leading complex sourcing initiatives and contract negotiations

  • Excellent negotiation, communication, and stakeholder management skills; ability to analyze market trends, conduct market research, and identify new sources of supply

  • Strong project management and organizational skills

  • Able to collaborate effectively with cross-functional teams and colleagues globally; experience in coaching and mentoring junior staff members is a plus
