Discover Impactful Work:

This role will have a strong influence on the flow cytometry community, representing Thermo Fisher Scientific in the global market. This roll is responsible for developing and implementing a key opinion leader strategy, with focus on accelerating market adoption of new tools and technologies. By leading strategic, scientific collaborations and integration of reagents, assays, and instrumentation, this role strives to establish Thermo Fisher Scientific as a trusted partner in the flow cytometry market. This role represents the customer to influence business strategy and product development decisions.

A day in the Life:

  • Build a global key opinion strategy encouraging scientific engagement and collaboration connecting instrumentation, reagents, assays in the flow cytometry ecosystem.

  • Identify and cultivate key customer relationships globally to expand customer network and support customer success.

  • Maintain organizational alignment to the key opinion leader strategy, and communicating on progress and impact.

  • In collaboration with Market Development, assist in identification and development of scientific content for promotional activities.

  • Support scientific presence thru events such as conferences/trade shows, workshops, publications, technical presentations, scientific posters, user meetings, advisory panels, collaborations/partnerships, social media, blogs, podcasts.

  • Collecting customer wants and needs supporting new product development. Serve as customer advocate to business and development teams.

  • Work with cross-functional business partners to identify and evaluate new technologies, products, ideas, and companies for strategic innovation opportunities.

  • Domestic and international travel 25%

How will you get here?

Education

  • Bachelor’s degree in Marketing, Business, Biology, Chemistry, Biochemistry or related field. MBA and/or Master's degree or Ph.D. in a science related field preferred.

Experience

  • Minimum combined 10 years’ experience in product management, marketing, new product development, or research in either an industry or academic setting.

  • Direct experience in the flow cytometry market is required.

  • Previous experience in leading key influencer relationships is strongly preferred.

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities

  • A subject matter authority with in-depth knowledge and direct experience across flow cytometry instrumentation, assays, reagents, procedures, applications.

  • Proven market influence, with examples of publications, presentations, or training experience.

  • Extensive existing network of contacts throughout the flow cytometry community. Strong networking skills to build connections across industry and academia.

  • Excellent written and verbal communication abilities, particularly in communicating scientific information to internal partners across functional, cross-cultural and geographic boundaries.

  • Ability to work collaboratively with people of diverse position and culture across a variety of business and scientific backgrounds.

  • Self-motivated and ability to acquire new knowledge and skills in both scientific and business arenas.

  • Ability to quickly adapt to change with skills in prioritization and time management.

  • Work within a matrixed business environment, requiring the ability to influence without direct authority. Ability to identify problems, answer questions, gain agreement of others and implement efficient solutions. Success will be measured by key performance indicators for specific projects and overall revenue, margin, and growth metrics.
