As a technical leader for the Hartford's Fraud Prevention and Security engineering team, the candidate will work within a multi-disciplined team to provide expertise on secure software development practices, DevOps, and application security vulnerabilities. The candidate will work to help further develop and refine The Hartford’s Application security program as a critical part of the Hartford’s SDLC.
Providing development support to our application vulnerability management platform and its integration with our DevOps pipeline.
Working with application teams on application security vulnerability risk assessments, remediation and influencing application solution architecture.
Assessing security solutions proof of value and conducting proof of concepts.
Providing security solutions for web applications, web services and API management.
Participating in enterprise technology and functional planning processes to develop standards and best practices are applied.
End to End solution delivery involving multiple platforms and technologies with small to medium complexity or certain sub-systems of large, complex implementations.
Build and implement capabilities for continuous integration and continuous delivery aligned with Enterprise DevOps practices.
Accountable for Software engineering practices e.g. Source code management, branching, issue tracking, document review, etc., followed for the product.
Design and development skills extend to service design patterns, APIs, UI/UX frameworks.
Expertise in software packaging tools and artifact management tools. Infrastructure architecture and configuration skills for effective operations support.
Thought leadership to drive continuous improvement, pragmatic deliberations and root cause problem solving.
Review and refine any tools and processes for quality governance.
Collaborate with the team to mature Code quality management, automated testing, and environment management practices to deliver incremental customer value.
Bachelors degree in Computer science, Information Security, Engineering, or related field with a minimum of 3 years of full stack software development experience.
Experience with programming languages such as Java, .NET, NodeJS, and Python.
Experience with frameworks such as AngularJS, Spring, and React.
Hands on experience with web service (RESTful or SOAP) implementation and integration.
Familiarity with the OWASP framework and application security best practices.
The ability to work closely with Business and development and a thorough understanding of the balance between Business and Security requirements.
Preferred but not required:
Industry recognized certifications, such as Certified Information Systems Security Professional (CISSP), GIAC certifications, ISACA certification, etc.
Proficient knowledge of regulatory compliance and information security management frameworks, including IS0 27001, 27002, SP80050, SP800-16, NIST 800, COBIT, CIS/CSC, etc.
