Location/Division Specific Information

Clinical Microarray testing is an evolving field, driven by long standing first-tier test recommendations by multiple medical societies, as well as the growing clinical use of WES/WGS in this space.

The Senior Sales Manager, Genetic Testing Specialists reports into the commercial leadership of our Genetic Sciences Division and leads a team of Product Specialists covering the Clinical Microarray business in Reproductive Health and Oncology across North America.

How you will make an impact

We are seeking a highly skilled and experienced Senior Sales Manager to lead our team of technical sales specialists. They will play a significant role in driving sales performance, developing and implementing strategies, and providing guidance and support to the team. The ideal candidate will possess a consistent track record of leading and motivating sales teams to achieve targets, market knowledge of clinical laboratory testing needs, and a strong technical background. Experience in solution selling, navigating market segments, and partnering with executives critical for success in this role.

What will you do?

  • Lead, handle, and empower a team to achieve sales targets and objectives

  • Develop accurate sales forecasts and strategies

  • Navigate across different market segments, including commercial reference labs and academic clinical labs, to increase sales opportunities

  • Implement solution selling techniques to promote and sell assays, instruments, services, and software

  • Build and maintain strong relationships with C-suite level executives, internally and externally, to understand their needs and provide tailored solutions

  • Adapt management style to individual team members' needs and strengths and effectively connect with and influence key stakeholders

  • Display resilience and adaptability in a fast-paced and challenging sales environment

  • Make informed decisions based on market insights, sales data, and customer feedback

  • Mentor and support team members to enhance their sales skills and performance

  • Cultivate cross-functional collaboration with other rep types and divisions to ensure alignment and maximize revenue growth

How will you get there?

  • 8+ years of proven experience plus a Bachelor's degree in a relevant field (Molecular Biology, Life Sciences, Business, etc.) is preferred; or, a combination of an Advanced degree and relevant work experience

  • Proven experience leading, managing, and motivating a sales team in the life sciences or clinical laboratory industry, and coaching abilities to develop and improv the skills of team members

  • Knowledge of the clinical laboratory testing space; strong technical knowledge of molecular genetic assays, with cytogenetics knowledge considered a plus

  • Demonstrated success in solution selling; specific experience with Miller-Heimann Strategic Selling a plus

  • Experience selling in a declining market and adapting sales strategies accordingly

  • Executive presence and situational leadership skills as demonstrated by previous experience working closely with high level executives

  • High degree of emotional intelligence

  • Change management experience to adapt to evolving market conditions and customer demands

  • Strong influencing and persuasion skills to drive sales performance

  • Resilience, adaptability, and capacity to thrive

  • Exceptional decision-making skills and ability to analyze sales data and market insights

  • Ability to collaborate cross-functionally and drive revenue growth

  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills
