Staples Sr Regional Manager, EHS (Remote) in Boston, Massachusetts

What you’ll be doing :

  • Identification and implementation of risk reduction measures using engineering and elimination controls

  • Maintaining compliance programs with OSHA, NFPA, EPA, and other applicable local, State and Federal regulations

  • Deliver large scale, complex programs from end to end

  • Simplify, streamline, and automate business functions to eliminate waste

  • Review incident investigation quality and effectiveness

  • Provide weekly and monthly leadership update reports of FC safety improvements, project status, and glidepath to strategic targets

  • Develop and implement layered process audits to ensure programs effectiveness

  • Maintain ability to transition between tactical, strategic, and technical levels rapidly

  • Identify new use cases for technology and automation in risk reduction campaigns

  • Apply knowledge of project management and lean six sigma methodology

  • Responsible for the coaching, training, and performance review of direct reports (Regional EHS Managers and an EHS Specialist)

  • Accountability for ensuring team effectively completes assigned tasks and scope

What you bring to the table :

  • Experience with project management including project sourcing, planning and execution

  • Knowledgeable in data analytics and visualization

  • Ability to analyze, define, diagnose, and resolve problems based on sound logic and rationale

  • Ability to build partnerships with operations leaders and influence without authority

  • Understanding of data analytics and lean six sigma methodology

  • Extensive knowledge of OSHA 29 CFR 1910 regulations

Qualifications :

What’s needed- Basic Qualifications

  • Bachelor’s Degree (in Occupational Safety, Safety Engineering, or similar concentration) or equivalent work experience

  • 8+ years of related experience

  • Microsoft Office tools – PowerPoint, Word, Excel, SharePoint

What’s needed- Preferred Qualifications

  • Certified Safety Professional (CSP), Certified Hazardous Materials Manager (CHMM), Certified Industrial Hygienist (CIH) or similar industry recognized certification

  • Experience with Business Intelligence tools such as Tableau, Power BI, etc.

  • Experience with EPA requirements for Hazardous Waste and Hazardous Materials management

  • Salary range $113,000 - $129,000 plus bonus potential
