Amazon Sr. Quality Assurance Engineer , Alexa Devices in Boston, Massachusetts

Description

ASF Org. is responsible for delivering the speech middleware stack across multiple Alexa devices.

  • As a QAE on the ASF QA team, you will champion the quality of our features in our development pipeline using both automated and manual tests, reporting and verifying defects, and signing-off on features and release candidates

  • You will own authoring and the execution of test plans and test cases.

  • You will have a significant impact in the quality and delivery speed of our software, our business, and most importantly our customers.

  • You will work closely with developers, product managers, and other QA in order to ensure the features we deliver to our customers have a high level of quality.

  • In addition, you will also have the opportunity to propose improvements to our existing processes and automated tools in order to improve the team’s speed, quality and efficiency.

  • The candidate will have good hands-on experience in test automation and testing, with good knowledge of the core software testing techniques and have good communication, collaboration, analytical, and problem solving skills.

Key job responsibilities

  • Preparing Test Plan & Test Strategy for the QA Org.

  • Drive the QA charter for the Org.

  • Execute both functional & Perf. tests

  • Automate tests by leveraging existing automation - frameworks and making enhancements in existing frameworks

  • Add automated tests to the pipelines to have a scalable DevOps model with minimum developer friction

Basic Qualifications

  • 6+ years of quality assurance engineering experience

  • 4+ years of delivering test frameworks, test tools, leading the QA projects and initiatives experience

  • Knowledge of QA methodology and tools, with demonstrated experience in an QAE role

  • Experience in automation testing

  • Experience in manual testing

Preferred Qualifications

  • 2+ years of UI Automation (preferably on mobile platforms) experience

  • Knowledge of at least one modern object-oriented programming language such as C++, Java, Objective C

Our compensation reflects the cost of labor across several US geographic markets. The base pay for this position ranges from $120,000/year in our lowest geographic market up to $207,400/year in our highest geographic market. Pay is based on a number of factors including market location and may vary depending on job-related knowledge, skills, and experience. Amazon is a total compensation company. Dependent on the position offered, equity, sign-on payments, and other forms of compensation may be provided as part of a total compensation package, in addition to a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits.
