Confluent Sr. Manager, Sales Pipeline Strategy & Analytics in Boston, Massachusetts

About the Role:

This role will be a key member of the Sales Strategy and Analytics team and will work closely across the Field Sales and Marketing organizations to utilize our business data to provide insight into the organization's pipeline performance and optimize pipeline execution across GTM. They will work with all levels of sales leadership to reinforce an operating cadence around pipeline generation and execution. Additionally, they will work with the SVP of Demand Generation to drill into signals and pinpoint areas that need to be lifted by additional demand gen. Success will be measured by increasing the number of territories with appropriate pipeline coverage and helping drive pipeline generation where needed from both marketing and sales. The role requires a deep understanding of the go-to-market business functions to effectively bridge between the data and business decisions needed for success. A background in a pre-sales and post-sales customer business, as well as a growth-oriented global SaaS business, is essential, and recent experience with a consumption-based model is highly desired. This position will report to the Director of Sales Strategy & Analytics within the global Sales Operations organization.

What You Will Do:

  • Be the primary driver of weekly insights on pipeline metrics, and partner with all levels of sales leadership to identify risk and build remediation strategies, ultimately driving pipeline creation and execution accountability across the sales organization

  • Help develop an activity-based model to optimize pipeline generation from the sales organization and partner with all levels of sales leadership to drive needed activity.

  • Partner with the SVP of Demand Gen to pinpoint where action is needed to improve the future pipeline

  • Drive design improvements for global sales pipeline models and reporting dashboards based on field feedback to appropriately monitor performance for all key indicators

  • Reinforce a sales workflow focused on making data-driven decisions about pipeline a part of our daily habits.

  • Develop outstanding key internal stakeholder relationships across Data Science, Product, Marketing, Sales, and Finance.

What You Will Bring:

  • BS degree, preferably with an MBA focused on Strategy, Business, or Operations

  • 6+ yearsâ relevant experience; prior experience in Sales, Sales Operations, or Sales Strategy required

  • Knowledge of Salesforce, People.AI , and Tableau reporting is highly preferred

  • Working knowledge of pipeline generation and demand generation in software-based SaaS organizations

  • Working knowledge of sales models, both traditional and SaaS consumption-based

  • The ability to build high-performance cross-functional teams

  • Exceptional, demonstrable track record of program execution, change management, and cross-functional stakeholder engagement to deliver results

  • Working knowledge of the organizations and teams within Sales, Marketing, Customer Success, Partner Ecosystem, Enablement, and Sales Operations

  • A high degree of self-motivation fostered in a fast-paced, high growth, dynamic environment

  • Strong executive presence: communication (verbal, written, presentation) and facilitation skills with experience engaging and partnering at all levels internally and with key external stakeholders
