Thermo Fisher Scientific Sr Manager of Product Management in Boston, Massachusetts

How will you make an impact?

You will direct a team of product managers and drive our growth strategy for the Research Immunoassays (ELISA and Luminex assays) portfolio.

What will you do?

  • Product Marketing

  • Lead team through annual strategic planning cycle

  • Optimize the customer experience related to the find-decide-buy journey

  • Propose strategies to drive incremental sales/volume, fill unmet needs, create differentiation

  • Rationalize products that erode profit and reduce supply chain efficiencies

  • Coordinate pricing strategies

  • Portfolio Management

  • Gain alignment on product development roadmap including target expansion and software development

  • Serve as business lead on the Product Approval Committee

  • Evaluate opportunities for partnership with external suppliers

  • Cross Functional Product Leadership

  • Work with key functions to integrate inputs from Content Owners, Marketing, Digital/Web teams, R&D and Operations into product strategy formulation and implementation

  • Partner with Operations to lower backorder and reduce scrap risks

  • Partner with Commercial to provide support for training needs

  • Analyze market needs, workflow opportunities and future trends

  • Embrace practical process improvement (PPI) methodology to find opportunities to improve the customer experience

How will you get here?

  • Bachelor’s degree in Biology, Chemistry, Biochemistry, Marketing, Business or equivalent

  • MBA and/or Masters or Ph.D. preferred

Experience

  • Minimum of 8 years of experience in product management and/or strategic marketing

  • Experience leading teams and working directly with customers

Knowledge, Skills and Abilities

  • Knowledge of global research immunoassay markets and competitive landscape

  • Self-starter with the ability to build and implement plans

  • Strong leadership, project management and planning skills

  • Comfortable making decisions and accepting changes

  • Ability to work in matrix organizational structure with global teams

  • Requires excellent written and verbal communication skills

  • Sophisticated skills in Microsoft Products: PowerPoint, Excel
