Senior Manager, Market and Customer Analytics and Insights (remote)


Remote Position : United States or United Kingdom

How will you make an impact:

This key role within the Clinical Diagnostics Division (CDD) Global Commercial Operations (GCO) team will drive and continue to build the market and competitive intelligence capability. This individual will be responsible for compiling clinical diagnostics market intelligence reports, providing insights, and offering critical input into monthly/quarterly business reports, annual strategic and operating plans.

What will you do:

  • Build and enhance the market intelligence function for the division, working with Sales, Marketing and Business Unit leadership to develop a roadmap towards the desired future state.

  • Support near and long-term business growth by providing market, customer and competitive insights that will enable timely business decisions.

  • Maintain and evolve product and customer-segment market models.

  • Compile and disseminate comprehensive on-going market intelligence reports and dashboards, taking the lead on secondary market research while working closely with commercial operations to extract data and insights from internal CRMs. Provide additional data analysis and reports on-demand.

  • Contribute to the development of strategic and annual operating plans by delivering insights and analysis to inform decision-making.

  • Be seen as a subject matter expert and internal thought leader on current market and competitive landscape for clinical diagnostics.

  • Evaluate market trends with concrete recommendations for optimization of our product/business portfolio and strategy

  • Develop and implement new innovative business analytics tools, techniques, and automated processes.

  • Partner across the organization to create and maintain best in class analytical and marketplace assessment practices.

How will you get there:


  • Bachelor’s Degree required, preferably in Healthcare or Life Science or related field

  • Advanced business degree (MBA) preferred


  • Knowledge of a major life science field, preferably in biology, biochemistry, chemistry, medicine, or related field

  • Knowledge of the international IVD industry strongly preferred (Medical Devices, Pharma or Biotech industries can also be considered)

  • Experience in some or all of Sales/Marketing/Business Development/Business Strategy

  • Experience in primary/secondary market research, strategic insights, market research, business analytics, or a related area is preferred

  • At least 2 years of leadership experience in intelligence, market research, consulting and strategy

Knowledge, Skills, Abilities:

  • Position may require Covid-19 vaccination, including a booster and/or routine testing, per client discretion. As a requirement to be onsite at Thermo Fisher Scientific this position requires vaccination status disclosure upon employment.

  • Strong analytical skillset and attention to detail

  • Ability to understand, translate and integrate marketplace data and secondary data tools into actionable insights to drive decision-making

  • Strong project management skills and a proven track record of successfully implementing initiatives

  • Broad business acumen and intellect, plus vital competencies essential to navigating complex and dynamic market conditions and organizations

  • Accomplished written, oral and presentation skills, combined with a strong executive presence and the ability to influence at all levels of the organization

  • Ability to work effectively in a global matrixed organizational environment where a high degree of collaboration is required

  • Ability to effectively work remotely or virtually and independently on multiple projects

  • Excellent time management and organizational skills

  • Passion and flexibility to adapt and drive business improvement and leading change in a large, complex, and fast-paced organization

  • Direct experience and demonstrated ability to develop own executive level presentations using Microsoft PowerPoint and Excel
