Reporting directly to the Global Director of Applications Management, your primary tasks are to:
Prepare specifications and related documents in accordance with requirements, established formats and general instructions
Review and analyze a variety of engineering data, documents and reports
Development and implementation of product tests and product test procedures
Assist productization staff in the release of product software
Engage with OEM partners to drive product integration strategies
Plan, conduct or coordinate relatively straight-forward engineering analyses and tests, and prepare related reports and summaries, for review
Serve as a global application expert. Support local countries and customers with new proof of concept case studies. Know and communicate the value proposition of our products
Support integration issues through end-customer acceptance
Specific Software Development can include:
User Interface software design
Application development of embedded system applications in “C”, KAREL, and web technologies
Database tool development
Web browser related development
Support the maximization of Universal Robots’ product penetration by engaging in customer visits, participating in trade shows, and facilitating the sales efforts and technical development of our go to market strategy
Demonstrate ability and willingness to work towards common goals and support "One UR", including navigating safely in a rapidly changing environment / priority
Basic Qualifications, Experience, Skills & Education Required
Duties require thorough understanding of standard engineering theories, concepts, principles and techniques. Work is subject to general overview to ensure quality
Bachelor’s degree or higher in Mechatronics or Engineering related subject
Fifteen (15) or more years’ experience in industrial robotics or automation industry required
Good communication skills, ability to transfer knowledge and a good understanding of cross-cultural differences
Functional Knowledge in a high-level programming language such as C++/Java/Python
AutoCAD, Visual Basic, or other design and offline programming software experience required
Approachable and takes pride in providing a high standard of support to customers and partners
Enjoy interaction with customers
Ability to analyze problems in a logical manner
Highly organized with the ability to manage multiple projects/ tasks simultaneously and effectively prioritize projects and tasks
Self-starter who is resourceful and initiates work without specific instruction
Demonstrated technical proficiency of systems integration in two (2) - three (3) distinct application areas such as Vison Solutions, Tooling + Fixturing design, screwdriving, dispensing, palletizing, welding, etc.
